Robert Musil beschreibt in der Novelle "Grigia" die schrittweise Selbstauflösung des Geologen Homo. Unentschlossen, ob er seiner Frau und seinem kranken Sohn in den Kuraufenthalt folgen soll, da er sonst zu lange "von seinen Büchern, Plänen und seinem Leben" getrennt wäre, läßt er sich schließlich von seinem Freund Hoffingott anwerben. Mit ihm soll er die alten venezianischen Goldbergwerke im Fersental, ausgehend von dem Ort "P." (= Palai, Pergine), wieder erschließen.
