Cathy Dobson - Please, please stop narrating!

Would you try another book written by the authors or narrated by Cathy Dobson?

Written by the authors - absolutely. The only reason I gave a 2* was that I couldn't get past the first story because of the abysmal narration.

Narrated by Cathy Dobson? That's hilarious. NEVER, EVER AGAIN. (I always check now to make sure that she is not the narrator before I buy).

What could the authors have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not the authors fault - they will be spinning in their grave at someone chewing up their beautiful words and vomiting them back out into a microphone.

What didn’t you like about Cathy Dobson’s performance?

Everything. She has a terrible, whiny voice, which is totally unsuitable for narration. Her vocal inflections and/or emphases are usually misplaced, and she has an extremely irritating way of ending sentences.

What character would you cut from Great Horror Stories?

The narrator. I know, I know - not a character (per se!) but I just wanted to have another go at just how terrible Cathy Dobson reads.

Any additional comments?

Cathy Dobson has decided that she WILL continue to narrate no matter how many negative reviews she gets. As such, I feel my (admittedly, harsh) criticism is justified.

n.b. Cathy Dobson - for the love of God and all audible listeners, by all means continue to produce your short story collections (which are well-selected, I have to say) but hire a PROFESSIONAL narrator - I would be confident in saying that your sales would go up substantially and Red Door would have many more audiobook fans than I suspect it does at the minute.

dreadful narration.

fantastic stories completely ruined by monotonous, soulless, boring, life ending, phone smashing, audible hating narration.
