About this listen
Shifting into high fear
Ghost/god Wes Cooper and his not-life partner, vampire Hudson Rojas, have settled into cohabitation in an upscale part of Toronto. So what if their hoity-toity new neighbors haven't exactly rolled out the welcome mat for the paranormal pair? Their PI business is booming, and when a suspect they've been tailing winds up in the morgue, it's alongside a rash of other shifters in apparent drug-related fatalities.
Now, Wes and Hudson must connect the dots between the shifter deaths and an uptick in brutal vampire attacks across the city. Throw in a surprise visit from Hudson's niece - who may or may not be on the run from European paranormal police (who may or may not exist) - and guardianship of a teen shifter who might be the key to solving the whole mystery (if only she could recover her memory), and Wes and Hudson have never been busier...or happier.
But when a nightmare from Hudson's past comes back to haunt him, their weird, little found family is pushed to the brink. Mucking this up would mean Hudson and Wes missing their second chance at happily forever-afterlife....
Contains mature themes.

Loved it

God forbid, I fell absolutely in love with these characters, I’m obsessed, I’m so glad Wes finally accepted all of himself and therefore understood his purpose!!
Ren and Iseks’ (not sure if I’m spelling his name right) deaths shattered my heart, I cried a lot for isek and felt extremely bad for ren’s outcome as well.
I hope Isek’s beyond is beautiful, and I’m glad Evan was given his own side story and finds his own happiness in that.
I’m so happy!! With the ending, god I was crying all over again.
This trilogy was so fulfilling and I love the awareness of asexuality with Wes, that was so artfully wrote. I also love that Hudson although had no strides with sexual desire, accepted that Wes was a little different.
I do feel that this story was great for finally fixing the miscommunications, Wes and Hud have had for a long time, but I did feel it was a bit dragged out, specially for how long they’ve known each other and for Hudson to only really truly understand that Wes had died for a little while before April brought him back out of a misguided sense of guilt.
I really felt there was something missing from the whole Micheal thing, or maybe April coming and sending some light on Wes and making him see more clearly, but regardless I was truly happy!
I love these books!
