About this listen

It’s Christmas Eve, and Maisie is convinced her boyfriend, Lucas, is totally going to propose. The cookies are baked, the mood is set, and her ring finger is perfectly poised. But when a confused elderly woman wanders into their home and claims it as her own, the couple’s plans are quickly thwarted.

Brimming with tension, suspense, and holiday cheer, this twisted short story is perfect for fans of Freida McFadden and Daniel Hurst.

WOW! Not sure what I expected, but this is a fabulous, quick thriller. Maisie is getting ready to be proposed to by her boyfriend, Lucas. Cooking a delicious meal, the two are enjoying the time. That is until an old woman lets herself in. A bit confused, she acts like she owns the place, and being the nice people Maisie and Lucas are, they indulge her. But what happens next is mind boggling. Thrilling, suspenseful, and shocking, this was a scene I never expected. The best kind of excitement comes when the anticipation grows, but honestly this was quick and I loved it! I will be looking for more of Amy Tackett's listens!

Joe Arden and Savannah Thomas are the story tellers for this one, and they bring out all the different facets of it. The holiday spirit, the romance, the surprise and then the horror! Each scene filled with a different feel, and a voice that brings it all together making a fabulous listen.

Quick & thrilling!

Grandma’s House by Amy Tackett is a “sweet” short novella wrapped with a bloody bow. Looking for a holiday book that will come and slice? Look no further. Amy found the creepiest grandma ever and delivered, a highly entertaining and confusing at the same time, short story. It is full of dark humor and punches that will keep on coming and make you question people and their behaviors in general.
For this audiobook, we have a duet style narration by Savanah Thomas and Joe Arden and they delivered a splendid performance. They created a perfect atmosphere and deliverance for this twisted, depraved and bloody story. And Savanah’s voice for grandma …. Excuse me ma’am where’s the Oscar?

Listened to the audiobook, and I am just left sitting here going and?????... like I needed more to this story. Everything happened so quickly, and I am left with more questions than answers.
This is my first introduction to Amy Tackett, and if she only writes short stories. I would love to see this short story turned into a novel, as there is so much to work with.
Narrators did a great job.
