Highly recommend

I had this book and audiobook as a child and happily listen to or read it again now. The story is well-crafted and moving, and the narration by Malahide is one of the best I've heard. The abridgement is also well-handled and maintains the crux of the story whilst cutting the length to a digestible amount. Music interludes throughout to break up the story into sections are a welcome edition. I'd recommend this story to young teens specifically and anyone who is looking for genuine poignancy in their audiobook.

I think it's a great book👍👍👍

I think it's a good idea for a book club book or sometimes it good for night and maybe if at least at the end my questions would be answered but overall it was a great book 👍👍👍👍

Great story

Enthralling tale eclipsed only by the riveting TV drama with the late John Thaw
After Thaw Patrick Malahide’s accents leave much to be desired
Great book,even greater TV drama

Beautiful

I knew the story already as I'd seen the film so thought I'd listen to the book. Beautifully written and an emotional ending.

Definitely a must read!

book just like the film.

Amazing book, after watching the film wanted to see how close the book was to it and have got to say I could picture the film through the whole book.

Great story cut short by half

This Audiobook is not half the original story! Half of the book has been discarded.

Not half the book I used to know

they litteraly just took the "important "parts and discarded the rest so this book is just a 1/4 of the original.

Endless rollercoaster of emotions

I had trubbel keeping track of my feelings. 1 minutes crying then laughing. Memorable book!
