A brand-new full-cast audio production of Good Omens, the internationally beloved novel and collaboration by bestselling authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Starring Michael Sheen as Aziraphale, David Tennant as Crowley and Rebecca Front as the Narrator.

According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.

So, the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan.

Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon - both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle - are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.

And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist....

Don't miss Season 2 of Good Omens, coming soon to Amazon Prime Video.

A big thank you and kudos to Headline for this excellent new production of Good Omens.
Whatever voices you have in your head, work. When you have someone reading it then often, it doesn't.
This is the way all audio-books should be done: unabridged but with a cast so you don't get men who sound like women, women who sound like men and children who sound like adults pretending to be children-and a lot of silly voices.
It also means you can do away with all the 'Said XXX.' which can be very distracting sometimes. You have a natural conversation and you can tell who everyone is without exaggerated or silly voices.
They should be recorded like putting on a play. Assemble a cast, let them rehearse together and then do the production.
So often recordings clearly have been made on one run through because the intonation is wrong or the reader has started with the wrong accent and it's clear they only start to really get the characters after they are a fair way in. Having a troop also avoids those times where vocabulary just isn't up to pronunciation, and more people means more insight.
This is a brilliantly funny book and a big thanks once again to Headline for choosing a cast that really understands comedy.
You must have people that know how to deliver a funny line to get the best out of it.
Especially with comedy where there's a big difference between a reading and a performance.
A bad reading just kills all the comedy
I haven't got much to say about the book. It's beloved by so many people and so famous.
It's probably one of a kind. Wickedly funny, clever, challenging. Just a complete all round delight.
What a collaboration! Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. As Neil says in the preamble: a couple of mates having fun. Boy, does that come across! Just so much fun. But such beautifully crafted fun.
This is a production worthy of such a good book.
You don't necessarily need big names though, and there are literally thousands of good actors who could do a good job.
Please take note Penguin.

That's the way to do it!!

loved it, great voice acting and story. if you liked the series you'll love it, and if you didn't you'll probably want to give it another shot after hearing the audio book

one to fall for

New standard for Audio books! The performances were great, the music and sound effects thankfully kept at a minimum and the book itself was so much fun! A fantastic little work companion while I was slogging through concept art work.

I've been meaning to read more of Pratchett and Gaiman and this was a lovely intro. I previously listened to North Mythology by the latter, and what can I say, it seems his publisher must have set a high standard for Audio books. I still might read through it some day when I have the time, I'm sure there's a few clever little bits that would have landed even better was I reading through the story instead of listening to it.

Highly recommended from this nobody!

What a delight.

So many parts that make the series amazing weren't originally part of this story, but God, they should have

Amazing but the prime video series is better
