Sometimes bad things happen to good people, so good people have to do bad things . . .

'An author you need to check out' - Harlan Coben, author of I Will Find You

From the author of His and Hers, now a major TV series produced by Jessica Chastain.

The Queen of Twists, bestselling author of Daisy Darker and Rock Paper Scissors Alice Feeney, returns with another gripping mystery filled with drama and her trademark surprises in Good Bad Girl.

Twenty years after a baby is stolen from her push-chair, a woman is murdered in a care home. The two crimes are somehow linked, and a good bad girl may be the key to discovering the truth.

Edith may have been tricked into a nursing home, but at eighty-years-young, she’s planning her escape. Patience works there, cleaning up mess and bonding with Edith, a kindred spirit. But Patience is lying to Edith about almost everything.

Edith’s own daughter, Clio, won’t speak to her. And someone new is about to knock on Clio’s door . . . and their intentions aren’t good.

With every reason to distrust each other, the women must solve a mystery with three suspects, two murders, and one victim. If they do, they might just find out what happened to the baby who disappeared, the mother who lost her, and the connections that bind them.

Critic reviews

Daisy Darker is clever, compelling, confounding and absolutely delicious. (Lisa Jewell on Daisy Darker)
Wow! Echoes of Christie's And Then There Were None but turned into something wonderfully original and wrapped in a genuinely creepy dysfunctional family fairy tale of a novel, this takes Feeney to the next level. LOVED IT! (Sarah Pinborough on Daisy Darker)
Wow, I absolutely loved it. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was an absolute thrill (Taylor Jenkins Reid on Daisy Darker)
This book is all kinds of twisty, and it's SO much fun (Praise for Daisy Darker)

I do really like Alice Feeney books and also the narrators of this. But it dragged on somewhat and I think personally if it had been condensed into 8 hrs the pace would have been better.

This was a great basis and then it faded somewhat

The store itself was a good idea. It just was very slow to get good.

Slow burning

A series of easy to resolve miscommunications. I almost didn’t finish it. The performance was also a bit irritating at times.

Infuriating story

Another really good story, with strong characters and some nice twisty plotting. But this is a story set in Britain, read by a British narrator… so why the suoer-annoying ‘ladybug’ throughout, when in Britain these are ladybirds. Also elevators instead of lifts… and the Liddell in Alice in Wonderland is pronounced Lid-ell. Not Lidl, like the supermarket! Such strange editing decisions. Or was there even an editor there to pick these up? Enjoyable overall, but these kinds of errors really grate.

Good story. Weird grammar errors
