Summary

Going Back is the electrifying third novel in Neil Lancaster’s Tom Novak series, described by Tony Parsons as making “Jason Bourne look like a vegan pilates teacher”.

Novak is back. Answering a call from his old friend and comrade-in-arms Mike Brogan, Tom Novak finds himself back in the one place he does not want to be, the home of his childhood nightmares: Sarajevo.

Undercover and thrust into the centre of a Black Op, Tom and his team are double-crossed and forced to rely on their wits as a deadly new threat emerges. Forced into a race against time to stop a terrifyingly effective new weapon, can Tom fight against the odds once more to save not just those he loves, but the world as we know it?

Critic reviews

"If you take all the best parts of 24, Line Of Duty, and Mission Impossible, and put them in one book, then you would have something very much like Going Back. An incredible, exciting read." (Cass Green)

Another great story

I have now listened to all three in this series, one after another, they seem to get better and better, I just hope that there will be a number four.
Narration is excellent, story is fast moving couldn’t put my phone down.

Another Smash Hit!

Absolutely loved this book and the whole Tom Novak series. In this book we see Tom go back to his home land and place of birth to tackle more potential terror threats. I really like the character development, and how Tom’s relationships continue to develop with Mike and Pet. The narrator is fantastic and gives a great performance. I’ve consumed all 3 books in the series within just a couple of weeks. Keep them coming Neil!

Feeling disappointed by the 3rd in the series.

It almost seems that this is not written by the same person as the previous two stories

Overall in my opinion not as good as the previous Two in the series.

But would try another in the future, just in case.

Another excellent book in the Tom Novac series

This is the third book in this series and is as fresh and thrilling as both of its predecessors. The plot is imaginative yet plausible and the book has the technical accuracy that only writers who have experience in the field can bring to the page.
The narrator does a superb job creating a range of different authentic sounding voices for the characters and his reading flows very well.
All in all a highly recommended read and I’m looking forward to the next instalment already.

3 in a row

I listened to the Tom Novak trilogy (so far anyways) back to back and apart from some narration issues with book 1 (the narration speed had to be increased to make it enjoyable) I can say unreservedly that I loved these books, the author has experience with both military and police and it shows in the detail

Please make these 3 books into a mini serie

Tom Novak is a mixture of Lars Kepler's Jona Liina and Luther. With Pet as Salander from Stieg Larson
All books is ripe for a very good Netflix or Amazon series. Just get to it boy's

hard work

good story, poorly read. I need gave up listening. The narrator accents are very poor, they merge into one at times making it hard to whom you are listening
