About this listen

Three-time Christy Award winner and best-selling author Lynn Austin pens a fascinating historical novel based on actual Biblical events.

Shortly after the death of King Solomon in 931 B.C., the Promised Land is divided into two separate nations: Israel in the north, and Judah in the south. Hezekiah is the second son of King Ahaz of Judah. As he comes to power, he must navigate a troubled path to reunite his wayward people with Yahweh.

A gripping story, which also really helped my understanding of life in Jerusalem during the time of Ahaz and Isaiah.
It took me a few chapters to get used to the narrator’s voice, but as the story unfolded I began to appreciate how good she was at all the different voices in the story.
Lots of references to scripture which made it really compelling.
Would definitely recommend and will be looking for more books by the same author.

Loved it. This made me want to go and read my Bible! The Narrator did an excellent job. She must be a Thespian.

Amazing Narrator

Loved hearing the characters from the Bible come alive and close to the original text where possible. Only down side was that I need to know what happened next!!

Fabulous!

This was a really good listen with relevant characters that were brought to life. The narrator was good but some of her character voices were annoying. Overall enjoyed this story.

Good dramatic story

This book takes one back into the time of King Ahaz and Hezekiah and fills out the Bible account with believable content and characters. The narrator is simply outstanding, and portrays excellent character voices ( which are not often found with female narrators, in my experience). I have just read the next book which is sadly not available on audible.

Outstanding all round
