About this listen

The name of the game is fame, and the trick is simple:

If you aren’t a player … you’re being played.

Isobel knows it. The Alphas know it. Yet every time they make a move, Ironside counters with two, always one step ahead, outsmarting them at every turn. Just when they grasp a lifeline, Ironside threatens to hang them with it.

They have only one choice: play the game—the real game, exactly as it was designed. With new contracts pulling them deeper into the service of the Stone Dahlia and yet another settlement tour looming on the horizon, they must execute their roles flawlessly.

It’s time to dim the lights, switch on the cameras, and get down to business.

Beware the pretty players, because this social media game just levelled up.

I knew I would want more when it ended and the final book wasn't ready.

Well I'm hooked, this series is going into my favourites. I feel like one of their fans, happy to read about them all doing the small boring stuff because it's not boring when they do it. I am addicted to the world it's set in, how it's so dark and restricted but also filled with moments shining with lightness...but seriously fcked up. Think Hunger Games... or Variant. But so much more. Gifted, you would think would be on top, but they have been tied down, isolated, contained, sold and imprisoned.

That reminds me, read the trigger warnings. There are so many dark traumatic moments.

I thought Isobel's life was dark, but even her father is now not so horrible. How am I able to switch from wishing him so much pain, to realising he has had enough pain? Well read the series and this book may switch you around too.

We learn so much about all of them and not in a cuddly way. It's uncomfortable and painful to read, but also strengthens to read them all deal with it and come together. Even Bellamy! Who I hate to love because he is so Bellamy!

I can't choose a favourite, I thought 10 mates would be hard to follow, and sometimes it can be hard to remember who has what gift and their names can entwine. But their clear character differences and how they interact...ahh I'm rambling now.

I did nearly get sick of all the smex...but that lasted a hot second. Because it's all hot, and also funny as discoveries of what our FMC likes surprise herself.

Book 5 didn't end in a cliffhanger like the others. But it ended in a promise, one that indicates book 6 will be just as good and I am here for it...just 2 more months... *bites nails* I can wait... I hope!
