Summary

Abby Rogers has been on health kicks before - they involve eating one blueberry muffin for breakfast instead of two. When Abby is encouraged to join her sporty best friend's running club - by none other than its gorgeous new captain - she finds a mysterious compulsion to exercise.

Then her colleague, Heidi, turns up at work and makes a devastating announcement, one that will change her life - and Abby's - forever.

So funny with true to life experiences

What made the experience of listening to Girl on the Run the most enjoyable?

The story was brilliant , wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered the book. Ordered it because I have just started running myself, but you don't have to be a runner to enjoy the story. The irony makes it fun. Narrator was brilliant and brought the characters to life. Some moments surprising and sad but not for long.

What other book might you compare Girl on the Run to, and why?

a Bridget Jones story

Have you listened to any of Emma Gregory’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to this narrator before , but will certainly look out for her now

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laugh out loud

Any additional comments?

Looking to see which Jane Costello book I'm going to listen to next

Love the book, Performance - meh

I love the book and have read it a few times, but I wasn't a fan of the narrator. She was okay, but her male voices all sounded exactly the same. She also sounded strangely formal in numerous parts of the book.

Light-weight listen

I wanted more from this but it was a light-weight listen in the end. Chick-lit / beach formula - ok if you are looking for that genre.

really enjoyed this book.

I could relate to her fear of running however I'm yet to start.

This book was really good. I did have to giggle at the narrator doing Oliver's voice - it was like the fat controller/Ringo Starr slightly stoned. it made me giggle.

would recommend this as an easy read.

Not for me

I do like a good chick lit book but this was just so obvious. Cliche after cliche. Liked the Liverpool accent but the narrator didn’t do a very good male voice.
