really annoying, he just rants on and on and on.... frustrating doesn't come close, I forward wound it at one point just to shut him up!!!!!

My understanding is that the protagonist is not meant to be liked. He is a deeply irritating man from a privileged background who spends his life looking down on people while taking various cocktails of drugs in between self righteous monologues. For what I imagine this type of person would be like - the character is very well written. But that unfortunately doesn’t make for an enjoyable listen. Sorry Charlie, this one wasn’t for me.
