I really enjoy the Happier podcast and was hoping for some useful advice. Unfortunately there is very little new here. it feels like a retelling of previous work squeezed into slightly different, poorly fitting, clothes.
Perhaps, if you are not familiar already with Gretchen's 4 Tendencies theory, it might be some use. For me it was a disappointing and irritating listen.
Most examples and ideas are repeated from other area of Gretchen's work, and then sometimes repeated within this one. There are some strange production choices too, so the listening experience is not always easy.
At the end I felt I'd have been far better off spending 4 hours working on my project than with this book.

Procrastalistening

An enjoyable listen, providing some great insights, and practical ideas and suggestions. This audiobook is definitely worth a listen. I love all those words for different types of procrastination. I do most of them. 😂 Recommended.

This was my first time listening to Gretchen Rubin, I had never heard of her but I have read and listened to a lot of productivity and procrastination books, and didn't expect much from this. But it was brilliant. Firstly, the production and the music. Another listener complained about the music and it almost put me off, but glad I still listened anyway, as the music is really great. It's not all the time and comes in on key moments, and really dials you in to what Gretchen is saying. I honestly wish more audio books did this and used music throughout, it would make them much more interesting to listen to. Then there's the content which is first class and personal. This is not generic 'hacks' but an intelligent and compasonate discussion that is ultimately helpful and useful, the four tendancies were fascinating. And finally, is Gretchen herself. Her voice is soothing yet energetic, it doesn't feel like you're listening to an author ramble on, but a friend sitting next to you. It is audio books like this that give them a magic and a life over a book, and make me look forward to each listening. Now I know who Gretchen is, I've ordered her other books. If you struggle with getting the things you want to do actually done, give this a try, it's a brilliant listen.

A Brilliant Listen

I have given up and I am refunding this with audible. The actual book itself seems fine but for some reason, the audiobook has background music scattered throughout at random parts and it is incredibly distracting.

The random background music is so irritating
