About this listen

The seventh book in the internationally bestselling Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage, featuring the funny and fantastic adventures of a wizard apprentice and his quest to become an ExtraOrdinary Wizard.

New York Times Bestselling Series

“To wrap up her deservedly popular series, Sage calls back nearly all of the first six volumes’ cast members, living and dead, for a fresh flurry of Magykal feats and threats from the Darke.” Kirkus Reviews

“Sage is a master of her created world, paying devoted attention to the smallest detail; the world and the characters in it are as vivid and engaging in this final installment as they have been throughout the Septimus Heap series.” —ALA Booklist

Favorite characters return in this stunning seventh final book in Angie Sage's New York Times bestselling Magykal series: ExtraOrdinary Wizard Marcia Overstrand, Alchemist Marcellus Pye, and of course Septimus Heap, Jenna, Beetle, Simon, Lucy, and the rest of the Heap gang.

Jenna will soon be Queen and Beetle is now Chief Hermetic Scribe. Septimus, however, must rid the Castle of the Darke Domaine by destroying the Two-Faced Ring. His skills in both Magyk and Physik will be tested, as will his loyalties.

Filled with Angie Sage's characteristic humor and heart, Fyre is a grand finale that is fantasy adventure at its best.

the entire series was amazing and the world created was so intricate I would find myself imagining alternate stories that could take place within it.

very enjoyable listen

Deeply questioning the choices for the voices of each character. General narration was enjoyable but WHY did Beetle have the voice of a sleazy old man when he is meant to be about 16? And I personally found the voices put on for Marcellus, Septimus, Wolf Boy, and most of the characters to be off putting. Milo and Marcia were alright, and all the pronunciations were pretty good, but I really couldn’t get past the weird Beetle voice lol.

Great book, alright narration

I love the Septimus Heap series! The stories are very believable and the world is so thoroughly and artfully constructed. Gerard Doyle does a fantastic job of reading the book, although I did notice a couple of wrong words (eg. at one point he said Septimus instead of Simon) but these are rare and it is for the most part perfect.

Where does Fyre rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book is brilliant, just what I've come to expect from Angie Sage. A memorable end to the Septimus Heap series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fyre?

It's hard to pick them out it's so memorable over all, but I'd have to say when Septimus made his decision between Alchemy and Magic, or when the ghost of Jenna's mother appeared to her daughter for the first time, and the flight of the dragon boat.

Have you listened to any of Gerard Doyle’s other performances? How does this one compare?

This is just as good as all his performances. Gerard Doyle is good at making characters come to life, keeping you interested in the story, and overall a good performance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes this is not only a book you want to listen to in all one sitting, but the entire series is like that.

This Book Is On Fyre!
