Verging on a breakdown on almost every page, emotionally unstable Merryn is narcissistic enough to believe she has some overpowering right to be queen, based on a tenuous link from centuries ago. She is incompetent, hypocritical, and makes unbelievably poor choices as a leader, all hail Moaning Merryn the First. DNF. I tried. I forced myself. But when you start swearing at the words at how ridiculous it is, it’s time to let go.

Sabel Sorenson did an amazing job writing this, it's up there in my top 3 all time favorite books. The storyline, the writing skill, the character development, the slow burn romance...it's all fire!

The plot felt very disjointed and you could tell it was written in parts by two different people as opposed to Dire Bound which I loved.
