About this listen

The New York Times best-selling security droid with a heart (though it wouldn't admit it!) is back in Fugitive Telemetry!

Having captured the hearts of audiences across the globe (Annalee Newitz says it's "one of the most humane portraits of a nonhuman I've ever read"), Murderbot has also established Martha Wells as one of the great SF writers of today.

No, I didn't kill the dead human. If I had, I wouldn't dump the body in the station mall.

When Murderbot discovers a dead body on Preservation Station, it knows it is going to have to assist station security to determine who the body is (was), how they were killed (that should be relatively straightforward, at least), and why (because apparently that matters to a lot of people - who knew?).

Yes, the unthinkable is about to happen: Murderbot must voluntarily speak to humans!

Again!

The story was interesting but too short, more like the first few free books.
Did not feel it was worth a credit but that is the main reason, the length.
Also the story does not continue with the mission ART talked about. This is more filler and character growth.

Good but too short

The fun never ends for Murder Bot and it's tale of discovery. Very easy o listen to and read in a truly believable fashion. Couldn't put them down. They are awesome. If you are at this point in the series you will know that already :-)

By this stage you know what you're getting with Murderbot books. Having been spoiled by the prior novel's length, we return to the novella format which means it's over super-quick (perhaps not the most economical use of my Audible credit, but my prior book listen was over 30 hours, so...).
This is a solid story in which Murderbot is seconded into (ironically) a murder investigation which he's forced to do with a degree of compromise with some station security officials who definitely don't want a Sec Unit on their team. We get some old characters guest starring, lots of snarkiness, some action, some interesting procedural detective drama, and some Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon (Murderbot's main reference for human interaction and how to conduct an investigation).
Good fun, and lots of laughs. Shame it wasn't a little longer.

Fun as always, just too short

another story with Murderbot.
i think it's missing a proper explanation of why the bot killed someone. other than that I did enjoyed it.

Absolutely loved this series although chronologically this is book 4.5 and would have been better to be read as such.
I was a bit confused by the timeline when I started the final book.
This was probably made worse because I paused after reading this book to start a new series and take advantage of the 2 for 1 sale.

This is book 4.5
