About this listen

This book is a call to action based on one simple concept - that personal freedom is a choice. Beth Kempton went from being a life-loving, risk-taking adventurer to a grown-up, settled down, mother-wife-business owner, before realizing the life she had built was suffocating her. She set out to find her personal freedom, and, along the way, discovered that many others were also feeling hemmed in, suffering from anxiety, depression and physical pain, exhausted, disconnected, and sad. Beth knew she had to share her path to freedom with others, so that they too could liberate their lives and find joy and fulfilment. Freedom Seeker is a collection of all the wisdom, techniques and steps that took Beth to freedom. It shows how to make the most of the extraordinary time we are living in, where technology offers new ways to live, work, learn and connect with each other. It's a very current manual for living more and worrying less. It is a timely self-empowerment manifesto: an inspiring and practical manual that will enable you to recognize that freedom is a choice, and that you have the power to make that choice and create the life you want. Full of personal stories of those who have taken the journey to freedom, this honest, courageous and touching book will take your breath away. It also includes a host of original, transformational tools to help the reader escape their cage and learn to soar. Personal Development Personal Success Stress Management Freedom

An awe inspiring read. I totally related to every word, it's a guide to rediscovering yourself. I'm finding me again. Just fantastic. I've bought the paperback and copies for my daughters and my best friend. Every girl should own this book.

Fantastic

I could not finish it, rather sickly, long winded, bragging story. I am sure Beth is a truly lovely person but not sure how this is supposed to make anyone (besides herself) feel better.

Look at me, look at me!

I really like the idea of this book and I will try to finish it, however, I felt a lot of her examples to freedom were out of touch. They either require a lot of money (buying a beach hut or going to Costa Rica) or having no real responsibilities. It would be interesting to see what her suggestions for freedom would be when there's a cost of living crisis, you have teenage children about to sit exams and/or parenting a child with SEND. She obviously has a lot of support around her and a lot of money to spend, this is not the reality for most people. It's a shame because I love her Christmas podcast.

A bit out of touch

I'm sure this is a good book and it was definitely a great. listening as the author read it herself. But unfortunately it's not the book for me. I struggled to finish it.

Not to my taste

I think this book would be great for someone who is depressed or looking for a way out of a situation. Beth sounds a great person, but for me her constant reflections back were a little nauseating, in a similar way to when people name drop constantly in conversations.

I started the book happy and ended up being fed up. My fault, not Beth’s - freedom means different things to different people. I would say this book is best for people who feel trapped and unhappy. Maybe also better for women due to the authors gender and experiences (children etc). Don’t let me put you off because it would be a 5 star rating for those I mentioned.

Not for me
