Story
With his brother dead, Eddie Richardson feels free to detail the story of a vicious family feud that provoked extravagant acrimony. No Handcuffs unravels the mysteries of decades of crime and political incident. The story of a turbulent era, it rivals the most imaginative fiction in its portrayal of gangland life with all its chanciness and rawness and careless disregard for any obstacle on the way to its target: the big money.

"From kicking a ball as a kid under the street lamps of Poplar and standing on Highbury's North Bank with my dad, to my first game at West Ham, I was born head over heels in love with football. It saved me, and 50 years on that hasn't changed one bit - I'd be lost without it...." Harry is the manager who has seen it all - from from a dismal 70s Portakabin at Oxford City and training pitches with trees in the middle to the unbeatable highs of the Premiership, lifting the FA Cup and taking on Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The difference between a good detective and a successful criminal is paper thin - CID induction lecture. Welcome to the Criminal Investigation Department, aka the Crime Factory. Where the cops take and sell drugs (or steal them from the police storeroom); where they fit up, 'verbal' and harrass criminals, fight each other, drink-drive, abuse search warrants, have sex with sources, stab one another in the back (metaphorically), put each other under surveillance; abuse every aspect of their power...

On 22 February 2006, GBP53 million was stolen from a cash warehouse belonging to the Securitas company in Tonbridge, Kent. In terms of value, the robbery puts previous British capers, such as the Great Train Robbery, in the shade. This was a crime notable for its audacity, carried out by an unlikely crew of players that included a used car salesman, two Albanian casual workers and a roofer. Five men were convicted at the Old Bailey in January 2008, which attracted nationwide media coverage.

An initial slow burn...
- By Nel Taran on 23-02-18
Summary
The first in a gripping crime fiction series by snooker legend Ronnie O' Sullivan, Framed is a fast-paced, tightly plotted thriller.
Frankie James is a young man with a lot on his shoulders. His mother disappeared when he was 16, his father's in jail for armed robbery and he owes rent on his Soho snooker club to one of London's toughest gangsters. Things, you'd think, can only get better. Actually, they're about to get a whole lot worse.
He always swore to his mum he'd keep his younger, wilder brother out of trouble, but when Jack turns up at the club covered in someone else's blood and with the cops hard on his heels, Frankie has no choice but to enter the sordid world of bent coppers, ruthless mobsters and twisted killers he's tried all his life to avoid.
But in the dog-eat-dog underworld of 1990s Soho - as a vicious gang war rages between London's two foremost crime families - will Frankie be tough enough and smart enough to come out on top?
Framed is followed by the second audiobook in the series, Double Kiss.

The book lacked a bit of depth. It was like reading a school boy account of his month. It just didn’t have enough to it.
