Critic reviews

"Gaiman has a deft touch for surprise and inventiveness, and there are inspired moments." ( Publishers Weekly)
"Gaiman again proves himself a perverse romantic, heir not only to Poe and Baudelaire but to the breathless Pre-Raphaelites....The collection also boasts lush prose...and a winning faith in the enchantment of stories. Expect the unexpected. Then savor the luscious chills." ( Kirkus)

As always this collection of Neil Gaiman stories is well worth the credit and time. The stories are small delights, and Neil is an excellent reader of his own work (something which can't be said of many authors). I wholeheartedly recommend this.

Delightful

These stories blurred there way into my waking life, listening to them at night in bed I’m not sure what we’re dreams and what we’re the words of this master storyteller. How I enjoy the slip from one world to the next and the twisting together of awake and sleep. The myth and truth blend into my world and make the world around me a new brighter and wonderfully darker place at the same time, how I have taken these collected words into my being is so rich a thing that will forever tell people I meet (who want to hear) how amazing Neil Gaiman’s stories are.

Loved the various tales told by the author. Definitely recommend. Was great hearing more of Shadow Moon it was like a reunion with an old friend. I do hope for more in the future. Also enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes tale.

A fantastic read.

I love being transported into these imaginative tales. They carry me along with them through the darkness and the light.

Magic!

No one explores other modes of being like Le Guin, but no one weaves other modes of existence into our reality than Gaiman. Brilliant.

lots of talking to dead folks ..
