Story
I never asked Hemi Te Mana to rescue me. It was true that I had a lousy job. Not to mention a lousy apartment and too much responsibility, although it was a responsibility I wouldn't have given up for the world. That still didn't mean I needed rescuing, if that was what you'd call the situation I ended up in. And anyway, I knew that a multimillionaire Maori CEO with too many muscles, a tribal tattoo, and a take-no-prisoners attitude was way, way out of my league.

You don’t find many too-pretty rich boys in the New Zealand Defense Force. Turns out there’s a reason for that. Fortunately, you can find your true self in the oddest places. Of course, you can lose yourself in those places, too - at least some pieces of you. Since I was back home with a new leg, some facial alterations, and time on my hands, I might as well help out my sister. Showing a buyer around New Zealand’s ecotourism sites, having a few adrenaline-fueled adventures? Fine. It wasn’t like I’d never been camping, unlike the walking tornado that was Miss Karen Sinclair.

Summary
What do you do with a person who's out of control and won't listen to reason? Especially if that person might be you?
When I'd taken Hope Sinclair and her sister to New Zealand to meet my grandfather, I'd known I'd be making the return journey as her husband. I hadn't reckoned, though, on the demons of my past coming back to threaten our future. And, as always, I hadn't reckoned on Hope.
I had hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of employees to tell me I had better judgment and more self-discipline than most people, and neither my self-control nor anything else I possessed had been won the easy way. That was why I was a New Yorker with a fashion empire instead of a dirt-poor Maori boy in New Zealand with too much tattoo, too many muscles, two alcoholic parents, and not much more. So why did Hope continually dig in her heels and refuse to go along with my perfectly rational plans? And why did I keep compromising?
Because I couldn't resist her, couldn't say no to her, and couldn't stand to see her unhappy, that was why. And there's more than one way to bring a strong man to his knees.
Note: This book contains one Maori multimillionaire with control issues, one fierce blonde with a mind of her own, and some very dirty loving.

Excellent Story but had voice
Struggled with the new narrator, preferred the narrator of the first book. Story is excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the audio experience but the narrator was too fast and sounded like someone just rushing through the whole story. The voice makes the characters more disjointed and whiney.

Love it!!!
What made the experience of listening to Fractured the most enjoyable?
This was an amazing book and a even more amazing audio book. I think Emma Wilder did such a good job narrating. She does male and female voices great as well as the different accents. And of course Rosalind James had another success. This is the 2nd audiobook in this series and I can't wait for the 3rd one. This book had me listening every spare moment that I was able to until I was done. I received a free copy of this book, but would have purchased it even if I didn't ,in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.”

Fractured but definitely not broken!
In "Fractured" Hemi and Hope face many challenges in their personal and professional lives. Hemi, is to controlling and won't listen to Hope. Hope, is stubborn and wants to prove herself. I actually listened to this book in one day! My main problem with this book is that the story/conflict is a bit repetitive. I enjoyed Emma's narration on Hope but I did not like her when she narrated Hemi. I cannot wait to read the end of Hope and Hemi on Rosalind's next book on this series.

Hemi and Hope; Still Works in Progress
Any additional comments?
Clearly a work in progress; the trials and tribulations in the relationship between Hope and Hemi continue in "Fractured," the quick reading and enjoyable second installment of the three book, "Not Quite a Billionaire" series. The bad news: it is a cliffhanger, something I always find annoying. The good news is that the third will hopefully be on Audible shortly and, if a reader can’t wait, is already available as an eBook.
The relationship between Hope and Hemi has never run particularly smoothly and this is still the case. Though their love is deep and their sex life extremely hot and adventurous, Hope and Hemi's expectations of what a relationship should be are quite different. This repeatedly leads to conflict and disappointment, never more than when a blast from Hemi's past blows in and complicates matters more. Both of the lead characters can be frustrating. Though Hemi has progressed some from where he was at the beginning of Fierce, he is still very much an alpha male who is sure he knows best. He manipulates Hope and situations to serve his own goals, and keeps key secrets from Hope. None of this works to his advantage. For her part, Hope is still a bit too pliant when it comes to their relationship, though she does try hard to stand up for herself and her beliefs. There are at least a few incidents in the book that make me want to shake her and I wonder why she doesn’t just leave.
My favorite character is Karen, Hope's sister, and I appreciate the growth in her from Fierce to Fractured. She is funny and I really enjoyed her observations. Her character rings true. In many ways, I feel like Karen reflects the reader's point of view when it comes to Hope, Hemi and their relationship. I also very much enjoy Hemi’s grandfather. He is an old soul. Anika Cavendish is appropriately dislikable.
The narration by Emma Wilder is good and, for better or worse, reflects the characters and their strengths and weaknesses.
I enjoyed the book and recommend it, especially for fans of Rosalind James and hot romances. I found it fast moving and it hooked me, though it took me a few chapters to really settle in. The sexual content of the book is very spicy, occasionally graphic and a bit kinky; something to be aware of if this isn’t to a reader’s taste. I look forward to listening to the final installment of the series.

Steamy alpha romance
Would you listen to Fractured again? Why?
Probably not. I really like a lot of James' books, and while this one was good, it was a pretty basic alpha romance. It's the second book in a series and it just didn't move me as much as the first book. Listening to it once was satisfying for me.
What did you like best about this story?
I really liked seeing Karen's development. It's like I'm seeing my younger sister growing up, but she's just a character in a book.
What does Emma Wilder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Emma Wilder was such a good choice for a voice actress. She has a great grasp of the characters and she really does a great Kiwi accent. She acts out the story superbly.
Any additional comments?
If you like alpha romances, this is a great series to get into. I'm sad that it ended it with a cliffhanger, so I'm going to definitely read the 3rd book because I NEED to know what happens.
I still really enjoy the concept that this is a book series that one of James' characters wrote.

Entertaining bridge between books 1 & 3
Would you be willing to try another book from Rosalind James? Why or why not?
Yes! Love her writing and the audiobooks. This isn't my favorite, but I enjoyed listening to it and the story is captivating enough that I recommend it if listened to as a series.
What does Emma Wilder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Emma did an amazing job narrating this book with multiple characters and accents. Frankly, I was worried that she couldn't compare to the previous narrator, but she was just perfect.
The voice narration adds an incredible dimension to this story. If you read my Kindle review, you'd see that I wasn't very enthusiastic about this series or this book in particular, but listening to it makes it a lot stronger and more real. The characters are more vivid and personal.
Any additional comments?
My only issue with this audiobook is that I had trouble with the shifting of POV. It's written in first person and alternates between the two main characters, and I often didn't realize that there was a switch. It might have been my fault having just zoned out or something, but that's how it went for me.
I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. This opinion is mine alone and not influenced by others.

love this series
Any additional comments?
I love this series! Fractured is the 2nd installment in this Not Quite a Billionaire Series.
If you like "Fierce", the first book in this series, you will love "Fractured".
Let me start by saying Emma Wilder does a wonderful job narrating this book, and bringing this story to life. Giving all the characters in this book a unique and different voice. I don't know how she does it!
Hope and Hemi are one of my favorite couples. I will say, It took a little while for Hemi to grow on me. They both have some serious issues that they have to work through. Hemi tries to control Hope, and of course, that doesn't set very well with Hope. Yes, Hemi needs a major wake up call and Hope is just the one to give it to him. I love the chemistry between these two characters, and the romance. Lets not forget about the romance.....Oh and the steam.... there is a whole lot of steam.
Ms. James definitely had me hooked from the beginning in this series and I can not wait for the conclusion. I need my happy ever after!

The story gets better and better!
I am enjoying this trilogy by Rosalind James. The books were hot...oy boy the audiobooks? Don't leave the app open in the car! :)
I really like Hope and Hemi's characters, and how they are never 'normal'. Granted, being wealthy ISN'T the norm, but if you want a boring romance, this isn't it. I'm really excited for the third book!

Can't wait for the final installment!
"Fractured" is the second book in Rosalind James' Not Quite a Billionaire series, and it's a GOOD one. If you enjoyed the first book, "Fierce," you will relish this read even more! Hope & Hemi have some very real issues to work out (along with some other issues that are not quite so commonplace - he is, after all, a billionaire...), and all is definitely not "Happily Ever After" in this book. As always in Rosalind's books, family is central to the story, and it's enjoyable to read about the trials and tribulations created by melding lives together, along with everything else that life throws in - including a LOT of steam generated by Hope & Hemi! The narration by Emma Wilder is excellent - it's hard to believe that ONE WOMAN is capable of all of the voices in this audiobook - she is very, very good! I cannot wait for the conclusion of this series!

After I Love You,...
Any additional comments?
I just finished this book and I'm speechless because it is not at all what I expected.
What I expected was a part 2 in a three part series that was like all the others, where basically it is like the middle of the book and not very satisfying. That's definitely not what I got.
I was happy with how part one ended and had no burning desire to see what happened to Hope and Hemi next, mainly because I enjoyed how I could see how the story ran parallel to the book in which it first appeared as a story within a story, the Escape to New Zealand book Just in Time. When I got to the first obstacle for Hope and Hemi in this book, I thought...."oh no, I'm going to have to skim this because I don't like people from the past being drug into my good stories to mess things up."
That, however, did not happen. What happened was a lot of working through things that had little to do with that past person, and everything to do with what Hemi and Hope needed to do to make things work now. Just like in the first installment, this book does deliver the promise to those who like to read erotic romance, but it also adds so much more because the emotions are moving the story forward. In this case, the emotions just happen to result in some very, very intense encounters.
Needless to say, there was no skimming involved in this book once I got into it and I couldn't put it down until I was finished. It does contain a cliffhanger, but there is an end date in sight and it's not long. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

After the Happy Ever After!!
Any additional comments?
This is the 2nd installment of a Trilogy of Hope and Hemi's story and is not a stand alone book. So, you have to read Fierce first to understand their story.
Hope was the assistant to the photographer, and had an immediate attraction to the polite Maori clothing designer from New Zealand.
This story is the continuation of the story after the end of Fierce. We find out that there is less of a fairy tale ending, and more of just a beginning to the story that dives into Hope Sinclair's and Hemi TeMana's life. Hope and Hemi's expectations of what a relationship should be are quite different. This repeatedly leads to conflict and disappointment. Than when a blast from Hemi's past blows in and complicates matters more.
My favorite character is Karen, Hope's sister, she has growth from Fierce to Fractured. She is really funny and I have loved her outlook on life.
Emma Wilder does an outstanding job on the narration, and I can't wait to hear more from her.
