1994: Ci sono un altro mare, il Tirreno, in Liguria, a Laigueglia, e un altro bambino in questa storia. Un bambino troppo piccolo per raccontare. Lo fa nonna Anna, la mamma di Stefano, che ora deve crescere da sola il piccolo Ernesto. "Sei il figlio di due genitori - scrive la nonna Anna - sei figlio del tuo tempo e di come le persone in quel tempo sono state. Forse di saperlo non te ne farai nulla.
