About this listen

The fae spend their entire lives searching for their true mate.
But me? I know who my mine is.
And I don't want him.
My name is Astrid. I'm a fae—a seer and a healer.
Not much scares me. But him?
That's the darkness I'm never going to let catch me.

Forewarned is book one in the new gripping, sexy romantic fantasy series by Chantal Fernando.

I really enjoyed the premise of this one! Astrid being a seer who knows exactly who her fated mate is, and wants absolutely nothing to do with him; had me instantly hooked. The banter between her and Rave is sharp, funny, and full of that delicious tension. And once Astrid gets tangled up with Rave's brothers... Honestly, their chaotic energy nearly stole the whole show.

That said… whew. The spice. I get it; fated mates, soul deep bonds, pheromones doing whatever, but there were moments where I felt like yelling, "Please, take a breath!" I also haven't met many virgins who speak or act the way Astrid does right out of the gate, but hey, maybe that's just fae confidence. The fae men were a bit much at times, and the fated mate intensity occasionally veered into over-the-top territory. Still... I was entertained.

And then the book had the audacity to finish on a cliffhanger. A cliffhanger! All I can say is; good for her. I'll be jumping into book two the second I get it. Spice level aside, this was a fun, addictive read and I'm excited for what comes next.

A fun spicy romp
