Summary

From the international best-selling author of The Simple Wild comes Forever Wild, a novella that continues the story of Calla's journey to the Alaskan wild and a life she never imagined for herself.

The holiday season is upon Calla and Jonah, and with the mistletoe and gingerbread comes plenty of family drama. Jonah is bracing himself for two weeks with a stepfather he loathes, and while Calla is looking forward to her mother and Simon's arrival, she dreads the continued pressure to set a date for their wedding...in Toronto. Add in one bullheaded neighbor's unintentional meddling and another cantankerous neighbor's own family strife, and Christmas in Trapper's Crossing will be anything but simple.

Language

Lots of swearing and took Jesus’ name in vain. As a Christian, I had to stop listening. Love clean and wholesome stories; this isn’t one of those.

Oh so good!!!

This book series was simply amazing. I loved the story of Calla and Jonah and their family and friends. I laughed. I cried and I couldn't stop listening. This story was so well written and the narrator was superb! I highly recommend this book series. This will be a series that I'll listen to again and again.

Save yourself- don’t read this!

I really wish I stopped reading after the first in the series.

The first book, The Simple Wild, is incredible and I’ll recommend it always.

But the second book, Wild at Heart, and now this book, Forever Wild (#2.5), ruin it all for me.

In #2 & #2.5 I find Jonah controlling, demeaning, manipulative, emotionally abusive and the embodiment of toxic masculinity. Calla is always saying things that make her sound afraid of him like, “He’s going to rebuke me later.”

And for those who might be thinking this is part of the character’s journey — it’s not. He is made to be the ideal man. 🤢 I’ve seen other readers describe this as Jonah and Calla’s love story.

Calla is nosey and continues to interfere in her neighbor’s lives.

The excessive use of the f word felt jarring. It didn’t fit with the characters.

Forever wild

This romance set in Alaska was pretty sweet and gentle. I listened to the audio book and found it to be interesting.

Hungry for more

Just finished listening to the Wild saga for the 3rd time. I always cry at the end because Forever Wild is too short, and I want it to go on "Forever" !! I know Running Wild (Marie's story) is released in print, but I'm anxiously waiting for it on Audible. I pray it's the same narrator when it comes !!

As ad it’s over

I got so caught up in this Alaskan world that I just hate that it is over. I don’t usually love follow up novellas, but this one was a winner.

Perfect little bit of closure!

Such a sweet gift wrapping up Calla and Jonah's storyline from the first two books!
