Summary

You don’t fall for your brother’s high school sweetheart, your boss’ daughter, or your ex-wife’s best friend. Especially when they’re all the same woman.

Under Brick Callan’s mile-wide chest beats a loyal heart with a few cracks in it. He’s the steadfast, overprotective type. Especially when it comes to the one woman he can never have.

It’s a long, complicated history punctuated by fights, friendship, family, and an attraction that strains his iron willpower. When Remi Ford returns to Mackinac Island in the dead of winter with a secret, Brick makes it his mission to find out what put the shadows in those green eyes. Even if it means breaking down the walls he’s built between them. Even if it means falling for the one girl he’ll never get over.

The free-spirited artist just needs to lay low for a few weeks so she can figure a way out of this nightmare. She’s definitely not staying. Not when the man who broke her teenage heart into splinters keeps showing up at her parents’ dinner table. Remi doesn’t need broody, bearded Brick riding to her rescue...again. Not when it will put them both in danger, costing them much more than their hearts.

Author’s note: Frenemies-to-lovers. Opposites attract. Slow burn. Girl in danger. Glorious, glorious banter. Fighting as foreplay. Small-town shenanigans. Big, grumpy, pining, overprotective hero. Wild-child, trouble-finding heroine who keeps on pushing the hero’s buttons. Steam level: Lava. Suspense: Nail-biting. Feels: Big time.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Another fabulous read by Lucy Score.

I have to agree with the writer's blurb: Frenemies-to-lovers. Opposites attract. Slow burn. Girl in danger. Glorious, glorious banter. Fighting as foreplay. Small-town shenanigans. Big, grumpy, pining, overprotective hero.
Forever Never is all these things and a lot more.

When Remi who is a famous artist under another name returns home, she bumps into the one person she was hoping to see yet avoid; her childhood best friend and crush Brick.

Remi is in trouble but the plot keeps you wondering what it is that she is running from for some time. The chemistry between Remi and Brick is sizzling.
Brick has never wanted to make a move on Remi, yet she has been the only woman he has ever loved. His reasons for never taking it further with Remi when they were younger were heartwarming, yet horrifying when you discover he married her best friend instead. That is the one and the only thing I could fault this gorgeous man for.

I would highly recommend this book, I listened to this book in audio and loved every minute of it. The sex scenes are hot, there's humor, drama, angst..., basically, this book has everything including that well-deserved happy ending.

Just what I wanted

Lucy Score is a new author to me. I’ve read her two latest books so far and I’m headed back for a third. I love her fully developed and exciting stories, clever writing, fun characters, the slow burn, and the hot and steamy parts. The narrator was perfect. I can’t imagine anyone bringing the characters to life better than Ramona Master. 5 out of 5 on all levels.

Ridiculous angst

Bricks issues were just so lame. He marries and screws her best friend so he won’t ever go after her- WTF! He is a loser. Don’t care about his hero complex. She should have moved on years before.

This book is beyond ridiculous. I couldn’t wait for it to end. Redundant and not worth the credit

So sad it ended

Loved this book. I rank it right up there with Virgin River by Robyn Carr. Loved the narrator; loved the characters; loved the sex and the humor! It was a thoroughly enjoyable escape from the ugliness in this world today.

You can always count on Lucy Score to deliver!

Forever Never is a little bit different from what you usually expected from Lucy Score. It's a little bit grittier and more suspenseful, a little less comedic, but it's such a great romantic suspense.

Remi has been the object of Brick's affection for years, but it's an affection that he can't act on. There are so many complications that Brick has put her firmly in the "no" column despite their deep connection. When Remi shows up on Mackinac Island in the winter with no notice, he knows that she's hiding from something. What he doesn't know is how serious that something is, and how upside down his life is about to spin.

Trademark Lucy Score witty dialog, high-quality writing, a riveting plot that has you reading way too late into the night because you don't want to put it down. This has proven that I will literally read and enjoy everything Lucy Score writes. She has yet to let me down!

Ramona Master did a great job narrating this lengthy story. She captured Brick and Remi so well, and she really made the story exciting.

Wow, just wow!

I’ve read almost all of Lucy Score’s books and this is a new fave! There story was amazing, the narration was some of the best I’ve heard and I love that she gave two epilogues and a bonus scene tying in characters from another series. I already want to re-listen to it!

Ugh

I was interested in this because I’ve enjoyed other work by this author & due to its setting on Mackinac Island. Sadly in name only. I honestly find it hard to believe it is from the same author.
This is for you if you are seeking a pornfest that is loaded with cliche descriptions expressed with major melodrama, characters in MI w/ misplaced, exaggerated ‘Prairie Home Companion’ MN accents, & about 3 minutes of plot. Possibly the worst Audible book I’ve purchased.

Steamy!

I am not normally into the admittedly light BDSM featured in this book, but WOW. Done in such a well written way and with emotional context. Only negative...too many epilogues. But in general love this author.

Good book

Very good book, just the right amount of twists and turns in the plot to throw you off so you aren’t sure what’s going to happen next.
Characters do live inside there head a little too much and it gets annoying
