My new favorite sci-fi!

I am an avid sci-fi and fantasy listener and fairly picky about what/who I listen to. In the last 3 years I’ve happily discovered Craig Alanson’s worlds as well as lots of other great work like the Omega Force books. But I can categorically state no other author’s ideas have grabbed me like Marc Stevens’. His AI isn’t quirky or hostile, but instead a deep character. His alien’s are more genuinely other than most authors while being diverse AND they are written deeply enough to be accessible rather than just plain weird—and characters within each race are well differentiated. His situations are crazy and full of action. His outcomes don’t lead to much despair, so pleasantly unrealistic concerning friendly battle losses. His hero is a wonderfully flawed and frustrated young human male. His heroine is vastly the hero’s superior in maturity and intellect. Their foil is her equal but duplicitous and inscrutable. Their team, allies and to a lesser extent enemies are a rich milieu of personalities, cultures, motives and ethics that just works. As narrator, Ramon does a good job overall and earns full marks. While not the very best on Audible, he certainly is in the top 5% in the genre. Highly recommended!

Great addition to the series!

Book 2 continues to be a great story and better than the first (in my opinion). Looking forward to many more in this series!

Great book Piss poor narrator

Take the time and get this book from the kindle store and read it for yourself. I like this story, the worlds, the politics and how things are heading. Is it perfect, no but it was a very entertaining read.

But please safe your ear drums and skip the audio book.

An absolute blast...

I loved the first book and really enjoyed the second... I cant wait for the third... The action was great and I actually enjoy how the character interact, which is rare since most books feel not very fleshed out or two dimensional.....
