This is proof no matter the age, when you know, you know. Amethyst and Maddox met when they were seven. Unsuspecting of the reason their parents met regularly, the two had an instant connection. As the years went by and they no longer saw each other, there was always that lingering pull of knowing you found the one. When they met again in college and found out about their parents' past, things changed. Now they are step-siblings. But the push pull of their relationship doesn't change and they know regardless of their now familial connection, their hearts tell them something else. That is until the unthinkable happens. And they are separated. Is it for good? Will the decisions made change the course of their lives? Amo Jones takes us on a wild ride, from amazing passion, to parenthood, from fame to kidnapping, and from pain and suffering to unending love. It's packed with angst and a bit of suspense. It hits all the emotions and had me needing to know how it was all finally going to be resolved. Not the Jones darkness I am used to, but a fantastic look at what the heart wants and what the heart needs. It's a great listen.

Logan Anare and Victoria Connelly are our narrators, and they bring out all the feels for this. From the rage and anguish Maddox feels to the pain and love Amethyst has, these shine with emotions and had my heart reeling. It's a wonderful story telling and one that should not be missed.

This was such a beautifully painful story, done in a way only Amo Jones can do. It was brutal and sad, and heartbreakingly beautiful. It was intense and seductive. It was full of soulmates, tragedy and family.

The queen of angst does it again, she takes my heart and destroys it and slowly pieces it back together. This book was amazing. Maybe one of my favorite Amo Jones books to date, Sicko is still my top book of hers but this one was a seriously close second!

Amethyst Tatum was a spitfire and for that I was gone for her! I loved her nonchalant attitude about life, yet she felt so deeply. I loved that she didn't care what people thought. She was the skater girl and wasn't into the frilly froufrou like most girls in books.

Maddox Stone is the "typical" bad boy, but is he?

I loved the dynamic between these two. The one-night stand that became SO MUCH more, the angst was real with this book. The unobtainable HEA, it was hard fought for and well deserved. Everything imaginable seemed to want to keep these two apart and there was so much pain and hurt it was heartbreakingly beautiful.

I felt the pain right along with the two, the heartbreak, the hurt, the toll everything put on them was almost tangible. I loved every second of this book, including the pain. It was tragic yet amazing. A true emotional rollercoaster. A thrill of a ride and an amazing performance all rolled into one.

I loved the innocence of the two children and their raw love for each other before they even fully understood what the emotion meant coupled with the newer version of love they found as they were older which all rolled into one and was so powerful. I loved how they knew each other so well yet were still learning about each other. It was just absolute perfection!

Logan Anare and Victoria Connolly were new to me narrators and they were great! They gave so much to this book. I loved it.

Ahhhhh man... What to say about this book that was completely the opposite of what I expected, but in the best way possible?

I've read/listened to many of Amo Jones books... Most of them I loved a lot, some not that much, but they all have her crazy trademark, with addictive writing and characters full of personality!
Luckily for me, this one is on my fave list now!

Amethyst is a rebel in her soul, but without an actual cause! Raised by separated parents, but who respected each other a lot, she grew up flipping on her skate, being a tomboy with pink hair, just to be against the standards imposed by society.

Maddox is a manwh0re and a bad boy, but his heart is in the right place. He's a professional fighter who trains hard to get to the top of his game in everything.

They meet briefly as children, but their story really begins when they meet up again at the same college, can't resist the attraction they feel for each other, and end up spending a wild night together 🔥.

This is all just the beginning of a long and very often toxic story of love and pain, between two soulmates, who can't fit in each other's lives, without obstacles stopping interfering with their destiny at every curve.

I fell in love with Amethyst, and I wanted to throttle Maddox at least a handful of times, but in the end, all I wanted was for them to find their way back into each other's arms!

This book is full of drama, plot twists, couples you can't help but love, enemies who become friends, scenes hotter than hell and a group of friends worth more than a lot of blood family! It's addictive from start to finish!

Is it too much to ask for Talon and Liza's story too? Those two were as interesting as Amethyst and Maddox! 🔥

The narration was great, with dual pov and I loved Amethyst's voice and intonation. Maddox's narrator was also good.
