Contagious Enthusiasm & Good Info

I really enjoyed listening to Ellie Goulding narrate Fitter. Calmer. Stronger. As a tired, post-menopausal 40-something I sometimes interpreted the message as too simplistic, but her continued stance led me to think “maybe it really is that simple and I’m putting barriers in my own way.” I loved how Ellie Goulding weaved in her own story, honestly and unapologetically. Fitter. Calmer. Stronger is a kind yet no-nonsense approach to eating, thinking and moving…and it has got me back to exercise (albeit ever-so-slowly). I like the collection of professional voices too - especially her boxing trainer’s programme. It would have been brilliant if the interviews were recorded rather than delivered via the PDF, but all in all this is a great listen that urges you to listen to your body and, as Nike says, Just Do It. Ellie and her team promise to be in your corner, cheering you on.

Great if your full of energy and young

Bought this thinking it would help me get out of a rut, unfortunately it just made me feel worse. Ellie, lovely that your so sprightly and energetic !!!. Kind of thought you may not just be energy shaming, which is what I felt you did. You come across as assuming that everyone had your energy level. Then when we can’t, feels we can’t be part of your gang/party. The insinuates a level of “yeah, we gonna get you all fit!!). But that’s not the long term plan. Thank you anyway 😉

Bland and me-too

I've been really looking forward to listening to this and have had it on preorder since July - I love Ellie and have followed her fitness journey on social media for as long as I can remember but I was seriously disappointed. After the first 2 chapters, it became apparent that it's just a collection of every bit of diet, health and fitness advice that's been about for years, she dips into all the fads giving advice like adding butter to coffee and drinking water and lemon upon waking - it really felt like it was being read from a list and there wasn't really any true input from her. the last 45 minutes if not longer was literally a trainer reading out exercises and format!! - the accompanying PDF is an interesting read and has some useful info in it - maybe this is better in a physical book rather than an audio version.
