I have been consuming all the information I can get my hand on about becoming a landlord, and this book was fantastic. It answered so many questions that other books did cover, and I loved how everything was laid out in an easy-to-understand way. My favorite part was the legal section. Being a working maintenance supervisor for 35 years and a home inspector for 4 years, (until the market crash of 2008), here in the US, I've had to deal with a lot of property maintenance issues over the years. But this book was a real eye-opener for the requirements of UK rental properties. A lot of this information applies to both U.S. & U.K. rental properties and things to look out for when inspecting your rental. The biggest cost issues are described fully as to what to look out for, plumbing and heating problems that will cost you more than they need to. also, the legal problems that you may incur and the cost of maintenance to comply with today's codes in the UK. A must-read for anyone who is thinking about buying or already has a rental property in the U.K.
