The premise was good and the pace was well designed. I liked the way there were different players which were coming together through the story. I warmed to the female lead over a few chapters, finding her a bit irritating to start. Her relationship to Merredith came a little late and so her attitude to her situation & thoughts on Merredith were confusing to start. While I liked the fact that different characters featured in the story, I did find the switching of their story/thoughts/perspectives with little to no warning confusing when listening to the audio book. Without sight of a new paragraph starting, it took me a few seconds to realise that the perspective, situation and location had changed. Finally, the very obvious 'cut and paste' of narration recording was jarring. The sound quality changed so the inserts of narrative were really obvious.
But, yeah, a good book though maybe next time I will read rather than listen to a story from this author.
