Summary

Passion, hope, and forbidden desire....

Holly Jennings wasn’t planning on another trip to Scotland. And she certainly wasn’t planning on a trip down memory lane with the hot Highlander who broke her heart. But she’s never been much of a planner - more like a roll-with-the punches country gal. A good thing, too, because “one last request” may not be the only thing a beloved mentor left her in his will. Before Holly knows it, she’s heading on a mysterious mission to a remote island - and straight into danger.

Dragon shifter Lachlan McKenney likes his life logical and organized - not turned upside down by the lithe, impulsive beauty he’s been trying to forget for years. Especially now that he’s busy guarding a ruthless archenemy who’s plotting to escape an island prison.

But Holly awakens every emotion Lachlan has been trained to resist: passion, hope, and forbidden desire. Apparently, there’s no outrunning fate, just as there’s no shirking duty. Against the odds, Lachlan must keep Holly safe on her mission to carry out a venerable old dragon’s last wishes. At the same time, he must resist temptation, because letting his focus slip could cost Holly her life - and unleash a deadly foe.

Danger lurks over Europe, where a ruthless dragon clan plots to seize power in the grandest, most glamorous cities. The guardians of old have summoned a new generation of shifter heroes to protect the castles, cathedrals, and cobblestoned streets of their ancestral homes - and to seek out the last of the Fire Maidens, women coveted by the dark lords for their royal blood. Those women are absolutely off-limits to the young warriors tasked with protecting them. But destiny, of course, has other ideas....

Anna Lowe’s Fire Maidens: Billionaires & Bodyguards series: a series of sizzling paranormal romances with adult content. Each story is packed with action, emotion, and romance! No cliff-hangers. If you like smoldering-hot shape-shifters, military heroes, and royal intrigue, you'll love these books. Absolutely loved

Book 6 in Billionaire and Bodyguards series Fire Maiden: Scotland by Anna Lowe. Lachlan is a dragon shifter and a previous member of the French foreign legion where he had met previous characters that had met and mated other fire maiden. Holly is a dragon shifter from America that became friends with Scottish royal dragon that died and asks Lachlan and holly to do his final wishes. I love that this book both main characters previously knew each other and have history already but also the main female character is already a shifter and has knowledge of the shifter world, about shifter council and fire maidens. Holly doesn’t know that she is a fire maiden and the story develops beautifully into it especially with her and Lachlan fulfilling her friends wishes. Would love to read more about the emotional unicorn Penelope, hopefully it’ll be soon. Absolutely awesome narration but the massively talented Kelsey Osborne. Like other book in series she doesn’t do much with the very different accents with I’m very thankful for. Instead of doing a awful Scottish accent she keep her own accent and changes her tone for each character which she does a lovely job. Can not wait for next in series.

Lachlan and Holly

Lachlan and Holly I loved Lachlan's story! It's different from the earlier books in this series because he and Holly already know each other having met ten years ago. They are both dragon shifters who are now getting a second chance to be together. The last time they were together they had one incredible night together but Lachlan chose his military duties over his love for Holly and broke her heart in the process. Ten years have passed and now they are in each other's company again on a journey around Scotland to fulfil the last request of a deceased friend, Trevor Holly's mentor. There is so much going on in this story, as you would expect from Anna Lowe if you read or listened to Fire Maidens Ireland you will remember that a dangerous enemy was captured. He was then imprisoned on a private Scottish Island being guarded by a mixed team of shifters which means we can again meet up with characters from previous books. Whilst Holly and Lachlan strive to fulfil Trevor's final requests they are forced to spend time together which gives them another chance to accept their destiny. I'm not going to tell you any more because of spoilers, the story is far too go to spoil. If you haven't listened to or read the earlier books you could still enjoy this one but I would recommend that you listen to the books in order to get the most enjoyment from them. The narration is again performed by the incredibly talented Kelsey Osborne who again gives life to the characters.

Fire Maidens: Scotland – Holly and Lachlan

This was a great second chance romance! While listening to this book, I could not believe how quickly the time flew by because I was really into the story. Holly and Lachlan had a past and knew they were mates. Lachlan left for 10 years for duty (he was in the French Foreign Legion) and had plans for his life including becoming a Guardian. They meet again at the reading of Trevor’s (Holly’s mentor and Lachlan’s Godfather) will. When Holly (kind and free spirited) arrived late, she had diarrhea of the mouth explaining why she was late. It was so funny! Trevor wanted her to scatter his ashes in a couple of different places. Because of this, Lachlan, who was extremely focused and straight-laced, would accompany Holly. The rest of the will would not be read until she completed this task. Natasha was a real b!tch since she was Trevor’s only blood relative, she thought would get almost everything. This starts an adventure for Holly and Lachlan. They had a wonderful adventure together that eventually led to danger, suspense, romance, and a few surprises. There were a few villains from previous books. The female villain is especially nasty and I would not be surprised if we see more of her. I could just picture some of the beautiful scenery in this book. I like how Tony was introduced and I hope he finds love in his own book. He seems like a sharp one with his Armani suit and nice vehicle. Trevor’s dog, a deerhound, was also a nice addition and I love how Holly talked to him. This book had a beautiful ending. Kelsey Osborne did her usual great job with the narration. To me, she is definitely the voice of the series. I would highly recommend this book as well as the entire series. You will not be disappointed.

Fire Maidens: Scotland

It seems like I waited so long for this release and as soon as it came out I just had to devour it. I am so pleased to say that once again, Anna and Kelsey blew this story out of the park! I absolutely loved everything from the sadness to the suspense then the action! And then we finally have our love and happy ending that makes my heart melt. A perfect listen to this series and now I must wait for Tony’ story, and I have to say I can’t wait!!

True love will find a way

This book will make you want to visit Scotland, if you haven't already. This love story is one of second chances. Holly has come to Scotland to bring her mentor's ashes back to his homeland. Trevor had passed away while visiting her family in Wyoming and she missed him more every day. The last thing she expected when she arrived with Trevor's urn was to be told to stay for the reading of the will. (Well, maybe it was to see her mate Lachlan again after so many years, but that at least made sense). When it is announced that Trevor chose her to sprinkle his ashes at two of his homes, she is happy to take the chance to travel across Scotland and visit her favorite places. Why is everyone so determined that she not travel to Trevor's home on the island of Gleninnis? Lachlan can't believe it when the woman he was forced to leave so many years ago, no, the mate he was forced to leave, shows up at the reading of Trevor's will. When she is determined to head off into danger by traveling to the one place in Scotland he doesn't want her, he knows he will be going along to protect her. The most dangerous dragon in Europe is being held on Gleninnis and no way is she going there without him. He only hopes he can resist his mate for the second time. He has a plan for his life and love is not part of it no matter what his dragon says. But destiny has plans of its own and she will not be denied. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Just keeps getting better

I just loved this story. It's about a second chance, love and learning to live and love without regrets. It's not easy to do when you're torn between what has been drilled into you all your life and love, especially when the person you love is the total opposite of what you've been taught. There were a couple of things I didn't see coming. I like when a story manages that. Have fun reading this one. I did.

Captivating read!

Once again Anna Lowe has outdone herself. The story was so intriguing that I could not turn it off. The characters were so real that I could imagine being friends with most of them. I especially loved the unicorn shifter Penelope. How she was described as being emotional is exactly what I would think a unicorn would be. The Setting was amazing! I’ve always dreamed of going to Scotland and this book was so wonderfully written that I could see the scenery in my mind perfectly. I love how Holly was not afraid of anything except getting her heart broke again! I love how I Anna Lowe even added that Holly worked with blind and disabled people. I loved that her best friend was blind and worked for a publisher who created audiobooks. I would love to have a friend like Holly. On the other hand Lockland was described as a true Highlander Scott! The big muscles and the Bronnie accent! Made me fall in love with him! The story was really touching. I’m not going to give away any of the plot for those who have not read it. But I really recommend you getting this book!

Fire maiden Scotland truly one of the best

Anna Lowe out did herself in this gripping story with an HEA. I was pleasantly surprised at the twist and turns this story took. Anna’s world is truly spectacular. It is worth getting in paperback, ebook and audible as I know I will read it more than once. The audible reader gets better and better with each story I hear from her.

when opposites attracts gets a second chance to be together Holly (free spirited) and Lachlan (by the book) come together to complete a dead friend's last wishes. They get more then they bargained for.
