Money, fame, and good looks mean an endless supply of men, both groupies and celebrities alike, which suits Gray just fine. Author Gray Hawthorne has it all and he’s on the verge of having even more. His best-selling detective novels are being turned into a movie series that will make him a household name and he’s rubbing a lot more than just elbows with Hollywood’s elite. Army Ranger Luke Monroe lives and breathes the military. They’re the family he never had and a life without his brothers-in-arms is unfathomable. But the ultimate betrayal has Luke on the run and a twist of fate leads him to the small town of Dare, Montana to seek help from the foster brother who saved him once before. Only the brother he’s searching for isn’t the man he finds and he has no choice but to keep running. Until an encounter on the side of the road with a stranger changes everything.

The last thing Gray wants when he seeks refuge at his cabin in the secluded Montana mountains is company but a run-in with the mysterious and very straight Luke has Gray offering the damaged soldier a place to regroup. And since a physical relationship isn’t even on the table, Gray finds himself enjoying something he hasn’t had in a long time...a real friend.

But what happens when friendship just isn’t enough? When a man who’s only been with women begins to crave more?

With one man running from his past and the other running from his future, will finding each other be enough to bring them peace?

Can be listened to as a stand-alone story - no cliffhangers.

This series crosses over with some of my other series, so for the most enjoyment, they should be listened to in order, but it is not required. You can find the correct listening order at the beginning of each audiobook. I've also bundled all my series in the correct listening order under the title of A Family Chosen: The Protectors and Barrettis.

Excellent

I hadn’t read this story beforehand. The story was wonderful and so engaging. But it was Michael Dean’s performance that really made so great.

This book is one of my all times fave

If there was a rate over 5*, I would have pick it for this book.

Gray meets Luke in a heartbraking point of his life... He found in the quiet stranger, the support and help he needed but didn't though would be there for him...

Luke's idea was to simply find a place to lay low and hide, he couldn't ever imagine how his life would change after his encounter with the hot stranger on the side of the road.

These two will warm and break your heart. They have already faced so much, but they won't let life get the best of them.

An amazing read!

Michael Dean did one more amazing narration with this book!!! couldn't stop listening

Finding Peace

Just like the title implies, this story is about two men finding peace. While on the run, Luke is "rescued" by Gray. Gray gives Luke a place to stay and in return Luke takes care of Gray when he most needs it. These two had a lot of difficulties to face but in the end they get their HEA. Michael Dean, did a fantastic job narrating this story, like always.

Fantastic Narration

I really enjoyed the plot. And unlike other romance audiobooks, I was able to listen to this one. Usually the heated parts are super awkward when narrated, and I have to find the books in print instead so I can read it and spare myself the awkwardness, but Michael Dean managed to make it enjoyable in this one. I’m really happy with the plot, characters, and narration.
