Finding Me is the deeply personal, brutally honest account of Viola's inspiring life, from her coming of age in Rhode Island to her present-day career.

In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever.

This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose and my strength, but also to finding my voice in a world that didn't always see me.

As I wrote Finding Me, my eyes were open to the truth of how our stories are often not given close examination. They are bogarted, reinvented to fit into a crazy, competitive, judgmental world. So I wrote this for anyone who is searching for a way to understand and overcome a complicated past, let go of shame and find acceptance. For anyone who needs reminding that a life worth living can only be born from radical honesty and the courage to shed facades and be...you.

Finding Me is a deep reflection on my past and a promise for my future. My hope is that my story will inspire you to light up your own life with creative expression and rediscover who you were before the world put a label on you.

So raw. Beautifully told, incredibly personal, emotional narrative of overcoming, surviving and thriving not in spite of, but because of the hardships endured. Inspirational and outstanding!

I loved Viola Davis before I listened to this and I love her even more now. I want to go and watch everything shes ever made.

Finding me is an adept title. I felt the authenticity of her story. I cried when she spoke about losing her dad. I could go on and on but i will just say if your a fan, you will love this.

This book took me a minute to read because Violas raw truth about her early life really hit home& sometimes triggered me. But when I tell you this book left me stunned and in awe ??!!! It’s so easy to assume who people might be based on what we see of them online but in this book she gave us a real look into parts of her and her truths, we would have never known or imagined otherwise. She’s an inspiration, a motivation and phenomenal example of the power within us black women. This book is 15/10 and I will definitely be referring back to certain chapters whenever I’m in doubt of self and my potential but most importantly, in doubt of the mark I can choose to leave behind! “My elixir? I am no longer ashamed of me. I own everything that has ever happened to me, the parts that were a source of shame are actually my warrior fuel” by Viola MF Davies 👏🏾

WOW !! What an inspirational woman
