Finding Margaret is the moving story of journalist and broadcaster Andrew Pierce's search for his birth mother. I had heard Andrew say something of his background before so was interested to hear more of the details.It didn’t disappoint.I spent a whole day listening and hoping Andrew would not only meet Margaret,but also his extended family.I’m sure this will now have happened as Andrew is too nice to have published this book unless they were aware of him.
I hope he can solve the mystery of his father and when he feels ready will write another book tying up all the loose ends.
Of course,this is the common thread running through the book but there are other interesting snippets such as his struggle to get a job interview because he did not have a degree,it just shows it’s intelligence not exclusively education that gets results,I was also surprised of his connection with Margaret Thatcher which I will leave future readers to find out.
Highly recommended,a good read.

So So good I related so much as I’m an adopted child from the 1960’s it took me back to my own journey as tough as it was I needed to hear Andrew’s story I hope if he does decide to continue his search for his birth father he shares his story it gripped me from the very first word to the very last thank you Andrew xx

Incredibly raw and truthful with Andrew explaining his search and how he felt through the whole process, I had to finish to find out what happened. My heart goes out to him as Margaret was cruel. She shouldn't have acted the way she did. So sad. But glad he found her but sorry he hasn't found his father yet. I found Andrew reading of his book painful. I think someone else should've read the book as it took me a long time to accept that's how he reads. It was just wrong (hard to explain!) but I got through it and really felt for Andrew and the cruelty he endured at the hands of the nuns and ultimately the mental cruelty from his mother. I'm sure she didn't mean it, but it must have been incredibly hard for him. Worth a listen (if you can forgive his reading).

I want to thank Andrew Pierce for this insight into his personal journey, I really enjoyed it and he read it so beautifully, he has a lovely voice and I felt every part of his journey with him.

Andrew’s lack of anger towards his birth mother is astonishing. He handled his journey to find and meet her with such grace and kindness. I felt sad and angry on his behalf.
The chapter near the end about the inquiry into the homes made my blood boil. What a fabulous couple Betty and George, his mother and father, sound. I’ve found myself thinking
about Andrew and his story long after I’d finished it. I’d like to hear more if there’s any further developments.
