When he finally managed to meet her, the mystery only deepened, leading him to Ireland in search of the man who may or may not have been his father. During his search, Pierce also realises the extent of the mistreatment he suffered at the orphanage and attempts to forge a relationship with the woman who gave him away.
This candid book is a heartwarming page turner that takes the reader on an extraordinary journey. Full of amusing and arresting anecdotes, at its heart lies the inspirational story of one man's extensive search for his birth mother and what happened when he finally found her.©2024 Andrew Pierce (P)2024 W.F. I hope he can solve the mystery of his father and when he feels ready will write another book tying up all the loose ends.
Of course, this is the common thread running through the book but there are other interesting snippets such as his struggle to get a job interview because he did not have a degree,it just shows it’s intelligence not exclusively education that gets results,I was also surprised of his connection with Margaret Thatcher which I will leave future readers to find out.
Highly recommended,a good read.

The chapter near the end about the inquiry into the homes made my blood boil. What a fabulous couple Betty and George, his mother and father, sound. I’ve found myself thinking
about Andrew and his story long after I’d finished it. I’d like to hear more if there’s any further developments.
A sad story told with kindness
