I stare at the newspaper article about a baby snatched from the back of a car 30 years ago and wonder why someone would post it through my door. Looking closer, my blood freezes. The little girl in the photo has an unusual scar - just like mine. I’ve never met anyone with one like it. Is this stolen child...me? Trembling with shock, I know I have to confront my mother. My parents got me through a horrific accident, helped me find a job I love teaching art, and even with buying my own house. But was it all built on lies?

It’s a normal afternoon when I walk out the patio doors of our kitchen to check on Mia, my stepdaughter, who is swimming in our backyard pool. But she’s gone. My heart stops when I see the back gate is open, her pink, fluffy towel lying folded on a chair. I was just feet away. Why didn’t I hear her scream? Who took our little girl?

So when she sees Kim - heavily pregnant, glued to her phone and ignoring her eldest child in a busy shop - she does what anyone would do. She takes her. But little foul-mouthed Tonya is not the daughter that Mummy was hoping for: disobedient, uncooperative and always asking about the funny smell coming from the cellar. A bit longwinded
A bit longwinded - especially towards the end. But fascinating story about the ruthless need for a child and the consequences of stealing one.
It really irritated me, that the pauses between chapters were so long, longer than other audio books. They are so long that you start wondering whether something is wrong with your device 😊

Started off interesting
Finding Lucy started off interesting, but faded after a few chapters. The pauses in between chapters was annoying and had me constantly checking to see if the book had turned off.
