Summary

Nan Kellers is running away from herself. She made a lot of bad decisions, and her most recent one was renting a sailboat with a storm on the horizon. On the brink of death, Nan gets rescued by a strong, gorgeous woman. Maybe, her luck is finally starting to change?

Cass Finnegan lives in a lighthouse with her young daughter Annalee, just trying to get by as a single mother while dodging the judgments of her neighbors. One day, a beautiful woman washes up on the beach. Annalee thinks she's a mermaid, but Cass wonders if there isn't something even more special about her.

An immediate, red-hot passion ignites between Nan and Cass, in spite of the secrets both of them are fighting to keep hidden. But for two scarred women, can love ever win?

Neither of them can hide from their pasts for long. When it all comes crashing down, Annalee is caught in the middle, and the result is far more dangerous than any of them feared.

Everything was Going Great Until

The author pushed the suspension of disbelief to the breaking point and then over the cliff. I really enjoyed several aspects of this book, but the cliched conflict that could've been prevented by a two minute conversation but almost destroys their new relationship and a few implausible reactions to situations ruined the book for me.

Loved this!

A “mermaid” and lighthouse keeper make a great combination in this book. It’s certainly got all the feels. Sweetness, secrets, angst, danger. And of course, love. This one is a must read!!

Great Story!

This is the first book I have experienced where it contains queer single parents. I have met some and I have been one myself, so it is wonderful to be able to relate to the story in that way. The narrator also does a beautiful job telling the story and helping me feel like I was there experiencing it. Top notch! I encourage everyone to purchase it!

Okay

The story was a bit overwrought at times, but there were more sweet parts than annoying parts. The narrator does a nice job.

A modern fairytale

This compelling romance includes poignant current issues as well as a thrilling chase and harrowing rescue. This is a fairytale with both dark and light. Enjoy! I did! Narrator Sophie Daniels gives a lovely voice to the characters and the story.

Great story

This was a good book for social distance... full of hope and love and drama... well written. Narration was a little monotone but didn’t take away from the story.

Surprisingly Amazing

"i was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review" i usually have a hard time with Marian Snowe books because they lack to intimacy that i normally like in my romance books. but this one was amazing. the narrator was amazing!!! the storyline was something i hadnt read in the past. there was a good amount of romance, and drama with the main characters. for sure one of my favorite from her.

Potential

The base storyline was very good and had a great potential. I have read over 200 lesbian romance novels and the premise of this book was a new one for me. The book was good with our deserving happy ending. The characters were well thought out without much suspense and the best way I would describe the book was that it is a very cute story. The narration was okay, and I know I am nitpicking but the way the narrator said the word "open" really bothered me, lol but like J said I am nitpicking and that is in no way to deter anyone from purchasing the book.
