About this listen
'One of the best books I've read this year' Jodi Picoult
SHE THOUGHT IT WAS FATE. I KNEW IT WASN'T.
Honor's life is nearly perfect: she adores her bright and beautiful daughter, Chloe, and her charming, handsome husband, Tom, even if he works one hundred hours a week. Yet Honor's longing for another baby threatens to eclipse all that is wonderful - until a shocking event changes everything.
Years later, Tom makes a decision that ripples through their family's life in ways he could never have predicted. As the consequences of his choice continue to unfold, two women's paths become irrevocably intwined.
Blending a page-turning moral dilemma with a sweeping love story, Finding Grace explores the price of secrets and asks whether it's ever too late to tell the truth.
'The darkest beach read imaginable, with a protagonist that no reader could predict' Plum Sykes, author of Wives Like Us
'Full of wisdom and stuffed full of unpredictable twists that kept me engrossed to the end' Daily Mail©2025 Loretta Rothschild
Critic reviews
Full of wisdom and stuffed full of unpredictable twists that kept me engrossed to the end
I can't remember the last time I read a book so wholly original that it also manages to feel like it's always existed. How is it not already a part of our zeitgeist, one of those watershed books people try to imitate for the next decade but never succeed in eclipsing? That enviable balance of blockbuster plot and literary elegance. Such a clever concept, such a whip smart voice, such perfectly rendered characters, all bound together by a theme as simple and utterly, relatably human as Finding Grace. An absolutely powerhouse debut that I will be thinking about for a good long while. (Julia Whelan, bestselling author of MY OXFORD YEAR and THANK YOU FOR LISTENING)
What an incredible debut! Finding Grace is a rare joy. Gripping and compelling, with characters you love and care about. Clever, smart and compassionate. A veritable powerhouse of a novel! (Imogen Edwards-Jones, Sunday Times bestselling author)
Finding Grace is elegant and propulsive, emotionally rich and psychologically astute. With an arresting narrative voice and layered, intimate storytelling, Loretta Rothschild's debut is a life-affirming exploration of the aftermath of tragedy, and love in all its forms. (Roma Downey, actress, producer and author)

Brilliantly plotted and executed; I found myself struggling to turn it off... I was fully immersed in the story, the suspense was subtle yet fully consuming at times then I'd suddenly find myself Laughing out loud!
Such an achievement - I look forward to listening/reading the next book by this author.
A truely remarkable debut novel!
