Impressed!

As a potential business student, I am exceedingly impressed by this instructor's explanation. He's not just eloquent, he seems to really know the subject matter. I wish he could slow down a little bit when working these problems. Overall, however, great course and great presenter. If you are looking to get a foot into Financial planning and analysis, this audiobook is should be the starting point for you. I highly recommend it.

Word Up!

I purchased the book from Amazon as well and I read it in about two weeks. I literally could not put it down. The authors speak like human beings and actually make math and finance fun and interesting. In those two weeks alone, I not only gained a better understanding of banking and financial sector, but I learned how to evaluate investments and make management decisions based on company finances.

The book covers foreign exchange, treasury and money supply, mortgage backed assets, equities and commodities, technical analysis and derivatives and advanced capital expenditure analysis through concepts like discounted cash flow analysis.

This book took me from feeling like I'd never understand certain things, to being able to discuss finance like an executive manager.

It can't get any better!

I really wanted to appeal to corporate clients and not necessarily retail consumers. I really wish I had this booklet back then...I would would of jumped through so many hurdles so faster. Without a doubt, I would recommend this book to anyone in the finance industry, whether you are a licensed broker or financial adviser, this book will help you to understand the playing field much better and will also talk the talk with your future clientele.

Even if the sales aspect isn't for you this book will still help you grasp the fundamentals of the structures of the banking and financial sector. It's really a wealth of information if you are looking to get into the field or a major head-start if you are in school. What I really like about the book the most is that it just has a down-to-earth (no nonsense) feel to the layout AND it supplies you with a ton of sources that will take you a bit further.

Well, I hope that I helped you with my evaluation. Whether you choose this book or not, I really wish you well.

Something that is always needed.

Great book to introduce you to the key concepts of finance acronyms and abbreviations, as they apply to every person in a company. If you're working in finance, you likely already know this information, but if you're in any other department, it is the perfect book. Easy to read, easy to understand, and I have been able to apply the ideas right away. I wish this was the introductory text in MBA programs - great place to start, as finance is, more than anything, a language. I am in sales and found the ideas a great reminder of how to position the financial value of by products. I encourage anyone who wants to get ahead in their job to listen this, and then think about your company and how to apply the ideas. In this day and age, Financial Acronyms is critical to getting ahead!

I'm always learning from it.

It is hard to understand business and executive decisions if you do not speak the language of financial acronyms and abbreviations. Without an understanding of finance, good people are left in the dark as unfortunately companies keep score via the balance sheet and income statement more than customer satisfaction and personal innovation.

MBAs and other have to wade through financial accounting texts as they have the time and focus to work through the blur of terms and assumptions. Pick up this audiobook and you will not only understand how banking and finance works, but also how it influences business decisions. The `dummies' genre is always a misnomer as people who seek out these books are not dummies - it takes a smart person to know that they need to learn. I learned the hard way with a four and a half inch book on most common financial acronyms and abbreviations. I could have learned more, faster and understood it if this book was around 20 years ago.

Recommended for anyone who wants to understand what most common financial acronyms and abbreviations is, the language it uses, the rules behind it and finally how it shapes and influences business decisions. Every person needs this basic knowledge to understand what is really going on and why companies do some things that do not seem to make sense.

Got the Finacial series

I don't remember where I found the finacial series, but I must have been impressed because I signed up for his email list through Amazon. When I found out he was presenting this course, I decided to listen the preview the sample of 4 min 22 sec. His authenticity and interesting story were enough to nudge me into buying the audiobook. I'm not sure that I'm financially stuck, but I would like to have more money. I found some interesting emotional/psychological tidbits in these lectures and I enjoyed Herold's delivery. I found these lessons quick and easy to digest, and yet the concepts presented could be dived into much deeper. The narrator Bahl is also very charming, and I enjoyed this audio book very much.

EXTRAORDINARY

I don't normally write reviews but i have to say this is the best financial book I've ever read. I have spent the past 15 or so years at the coo level with finance reporting to me. And while i'm financially savvy, I have no formal financial education. I'm a believer that finance, like any profession or industry, gets bogged down in its own set of acronyms and language. That in and of itself creates the silos too often found in organizations. Sales has it, marketing has it, hr has it, etc...etc... I always try to break down barriers and most of my time is spent as a translator. Truth be told, I've always struggled with translating the financial lingo. This book did it for me and has helped me paint a picture and tell the story behind it so everyone understands. kudos to the authors!!!

holistic

I am taking this audiobook because I have never had a financial course, and now that I am older, I really see the need for it. I know that financial literacy isn't just about numbers and budgeting. It is also about beliefs and attitudes of the past that I would like to work on. This is a "holistic" course. I like that this course covers a list of 140 most common financial acronyms and abbreviations. It is good so far! I recommend this course.
