Go, girl, give us nothing. I loved the three previous books but this one was incredibly slow in comparison and FULL of filler. I couldn’t tell you a single thing that happened before 35%. The character’s have more to deal with now than ever before, and yet nothing seems to actually happen for the majority of the book. The author is very clearly trying to drag this series out for eternity — and worse, uses this book essentially as an advert for the Lysander spin off that we can presume is coming. Save your credits for something else on your TBR, because other than the outstanding performance from the voice actors as always, this book is forgettable.

I was devastated when I read books 1 to 3 in a binge (seeing the whole series in the works) and then finding out book 4s audio was not out yet 😱 Luckily I only had a month and half to wait until I could get back to Julian and Thea.
I truly recommend reading my review for book one of this series as I don't do spoilers, so I can only say so much here.
I LOVE this couple, and what makes it even better is the actual family and the found family, which is rare. Usually, in romance/romantasy books, it's one or the other, and I do love my found family.
Having all three makes this story so much more complex but also fun! Julians mum is an incredible character who I adore. What will she do next? No one knows 🤣🤣.
We have some new settings, introduction of the fae (I feel this may lead into the Filthy Rich Fae series, I will let you know 😉), new powers, and unexpected reveals. The heart of these books though is the love, maybe not a strong enough word, will literally die for each other, can't get enough of each other connection between Julian and Thea.
If you read dark romance, specifically mafia, this is the perfect blend of mafia and romantasy. This family, the men, and relationships give you all the mafia vibes with the addition of magic, queen's, fated mates, prophecies, politics, and of course spice 🥵. Many of the characters have deep trauma to work through, so do remember this is a dark romance.
What's not to love! I went in expecting a spicy vamp read and not much else from some reviews of the first book but they obviously didn't make it far as I got so much more (yes book one is quite spicy and insta lust in the start, it's more than you think & not standard mates). I laughed, kicked my feet, forgot I had anything else to do, and yelled at the characters 🤣🤣. All what reading should be, a fun escape and an experience.
As with all four of the books, the narration by Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter was incredible. You could not have two better narrators for this series as they brought every character and moment to life.
Five star series all the way!!! I highly recommend the audio books.

The ending didn’t feel like an ending, didn’t really wrap anything up. Left it open like there is another book coming. Story was very slow.
