The chemistry between Evie and Valeri was questionable and their steamy scenes seemed excessive (and trust me I'm not one to usually complain about that). Initially, I was intrigued by the idea of a powerful, possessive Bratva leader claiming an innocent woman. However, as the story unfolded, it became repetitive and shallow. Valeri's possessive, obsessive, and unhinged nature - traits I usually enjoy in dark romances - lacked depth. His sudden, intense obsession with Evie felt ungrounded and unclear.
