I love the concept of death and how the afterlife works. I don’t understand the dislike. Personally this is more interesting to me than the powerless series by itself

First we need to address the wonderful voice of our queen, Lauren Roberts herself!I knew she was doing this, but hearing it was so much better than anything I expected. Second, the writing is superb, and descriptive, making you want to dive deep and never come up for air. Third,...I thought the story was going in a slightly different direction, or better said, I expected the genereal gist of rhe ending, but not how we got there; it left a bittersweet taste...I guess I was hoping for love...not just redemption! Miss Lauren, you have some explaining to do! 💜

This was good but I was expecting more tension between Kitt and Mara.
Feel that this book was more Blair and Lennie’s book rather than Kitt’s.

I enjoyed the storyline, but not as much as the Powerful novella. That broke my heart. This was more about Kit and his reasons for what he did in the trilogy and why. It didnt endear me to him, and thats probably why I didnt rate it a five star. I wanted him to, at least acknowledge his cruel mistakes. The book also followed Lenny and Blairs story. All told by Mara, Death.
The ending was sad and I am not sure its how I would have wanted it to end.
I have given it four stars because whilst the prose was excellent it didnt live up to her previous works.It is still worth a read to find out more about the mind of Kit in his last days and Lenny and Blairs life after the fire.
So read it and enjoy.

I love that this one had its own storyline and wasn’t just a whole lot of nothing with no plot like powerful was. Can’t wait to see what happens next in the series.
