There are a few important skills to have as a narrator,
1) annunciation to be able to speak clearly and at an appropriate speed to be understood without the listener having to recap passages regularly
2) pronunciation especially of names, essential when the book is set in a specific area
3) breathing, in the correct places where there is punctuation, a short breath at a comma, longer at a full stop or colon.
Unfortunately this narrator had none of these skills, which was a real let down. She sounded like a teenager, who had zero expression, no breathing control and was unable to pronounce many words as she was reading too quickly, not paying attention to what she was saying. This series is set in Wales, which would suggest that a British, If not Welsh, author might have a chance at pronouncing names like Rhiannon. I’ve added this author to my “avoid” list. The stories weren’t bad but the narrator ruined them.
