Not the science-based guide women really need

I really wanted to like this. Women’s hormones and healthcare haven’t been given the time & research they deserve and we are all yearning for a book with a magical key to unlock our mysteries and put us on the path to vibrant health. Unfortunately I think that promise is probably too good to be true. A simple google search into autophagy will prove a lot of Dr (chiropractor) Mindy’s claims false. The only scientific studies (on mice) conclude autophagy doesn’t even begin until after 24 hours. Studies on humans are nearly impossible and inconclusive. This sets a lot of the book in a dubious light. She basically recommends a full keto or plants-healthy fats-grass fed/lean meat based diet, which OF COURSE is going to improve your health and make you lose weight. Losing weight (if you are overweight) and eating well is proven to balance hormones because you often have an estrogen imbalance if you are overweight. Fasting no doubt has benefits for other scientific reasons but all her claims in terms of your cycle are exaggerated. Having a period does not cleanse your body. Whatever that means. Her YouTube videos claiming you should only eat organic and the strict diet she recommends are infeasible to most and just another diet you won’t be able to stick to. Save your money and do your own research into fasting. There are a lot of free resources and scientific studies out there. When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Also be wary of chiropractors trying to sell you diets or anyone saying they can “balance your hormones”. It is usually BS.

Great info but distracting music

Am I missing something about why music intermittently interrupts the author while they are reading? I found this distracting as it was quite loud and seemed to me to start randomly in the middle of chapters, paragraphs and sentences. The only saving grace was that, although quite regular, the music was brief. A shame as my review would have been 5 star otherwise.

Science Interesting, Preaching Less So

So extremely irritating in the delivery that it was nearly impossible to finish even though the science was very interesting to me.
The author managed to make scientifc information sound like crystals and woo, and it was hard to trust which information is genuinely scientific as she was inconsistent when referring to studies vs anecdotal data.

Life changing

I am a natural vegan chef and have many people ask me about what to eat. Everything mentioned here is spot on. It’s safe and there is so much support. Thank you Mindy for this mind blowing information. I will always return to this way of life and recommend the safe fasting methods mentioned to who wants it.

Amazing content but…

The music is so weird. It comes in whilst the narrator talks, doesn’t indicate the end of a section, or relate at all to the content. It’s as if randomly added to the audio for absolutely no reason 😂

Otherwise this book is amazing and I highly recommend; very well explained and thorough.

Good Book but VERY Repetitive

The information was really useful and I learned additional information to what I already knew which I am happy and grateful for however, this is 8 hours of repetitive information that could have been condensed into 2.5-3 hours. I am surprised it wasn't flagged at editing. I was constantly rolling my eyes at how many times information was repeated. It felt like they decided in the beginning the book had to be 8 hours an filled it up with repeated information.

Totally changed the way I view and manage my body

I didn't realise I knew so little about the basics of female systems. Everything is slotting into place, and making sense for the first time. Thanks a million for this treasure trove of wisdom to shed a light on such fundamental workings of our bodies, which I will pass on to my own daughter.
