Story
Through the stark and leafless trees, I see her. I remember the first day I saw her; an instant attraction. I think she’s beautiful. She has such pensive blue eyes; they remind me of a blue sky right before the sun descends. Every time I see her I want to talk to her, I want to get to know her, and I want to be her friend. She usually completes the lower woodland walk in six minutes and 42 seconds; she misses the deeper woodlands and goes home, I believe. I walk down the road at the same speed as her.

Story
When a German smuggler is imprisoned in Morpeth Gaol in the winter of 1703, why does Queen Anne's powerful right-hand man, the Earl of Nottingham, take such a keen interest? At the end of the turbulent 17th century, the ties that bind men are fraying, turning neighbor against neighbor, friend against friend, and brother against brother. Beneath a seething layer of religious intolerance, community suspicion, and political intrigue, The Running Wolf takes us deep into the heart of rebel country in the run-up to the 1715 Jacobite uprising.

Summary
For as long as she can remember, Arabella has communicated with those who exist only in memory.
Being the centre of attention growing up was uncomfortable, and now, as a renowned psychic medium, it is becoming more of a struggle. Arabella’s ability and reputation always made it impossible to hold on to lasting relationships, but with those who no longer walk this earth, that’s not the case.
Arabella returns to where it all began 15 years before - on the very same stage. After an evening reconnecting loved ones and exposing untold stories, Arabella can’t help but wonder about the one unclaimed "friend", and their cryptic message.
In an unexpected turn of events, Arabella finds herself the subject of morning headlines and at the center of Detective Barnes’ investigation.
Can Arabella use her ability to prove her innocence and uncover the truth about the past?

Spine-Tingling & Gripping listen
This book is fantastic. It was a powerful listen. I was intrigued from the very beginning. In this book Arabella is a well known psychic. She has no control when those who have passed take control of her to tell their story. She has become a suspect of a murder. The police are trying to figure everything out. Her abilities are confusing and questioned by the police and others. So many things are unveiled throughout this entire book.
I have listened to this audible two times now.
The narrator, Amanda Parrott, brought it all to life. Her narration was incredible and everything flowed so well.

I truly loved this creepy thriller of a story. Arabella was such an interesting character, I was totally enthralled by her story of being able to talk to those that have passed. It is a thrilling ride, that takes an I'm expecting twist near the end. I look forward to more from this author. And I thought the narrator did a superb job, of keeping me on the edge of my seat.

Spooky and Suspenseful
Arabella, is a famous physic who sees and speaks to the dead. She is soon involved in the middle of a murder with herself as the main suspect. As Detective Barnes continues his investigation, he is convinced she is guilty because he doesn’t believe in ghosts or evil spirits.
This story is spooky and suspenseful from beginning to end.

Since this is an audiobook tour, I will start by saying I think the narrator did a great job! I could easily understand her. I did read along with the audiobook as Familiar is on Kindle Unlimited!!!! I think following along made it easier to follow. I do wish the narrator would have changed her voice a little more with the characters. Other than that, it was amazing!
⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars for the audiobook.
Now, for the book itself. I had to stay up to finish this book. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. Then, I creeped myself out. I know better than reading paranormal books at bedtime! Lol!!! I loved this book! It kept me guessing the entire time. I wasn't even close to figuring out the ending. I love that in a book!!! I don't want to solve it. I prefer the surprise and shock of the reveal. I really liked the main character, Arabella. I can't imagine seeing and hearing from "friends" aka dead people!!! I imagine I would have a heart attack and die after the first one.
If you love a good paranormal mystery then get this book!!!

Great audio for spooky season!
This title is the perfect audio book to get me in the fall/horror-ish reading mood. When October approaches, I like to pull out the ghostly reads and Familiar did not disappoint. The main character, Arabella, is a celebrity medium, and sometimes the untold stories her "friends" reveal put her in between a rock and a hard place. The narrator did an excellent job with building the suspense and the eerily slow burn of this story. At one point, even the hairs on the back of my neck rose!

AMAZING!
This book is definitely different from any I have ever encountered. Yet, I couldn’t stop listening.
With the excellent story and narration, I truly felt part of what was happening... but it scared me to death!!!
This is not for the faint of heart. Yet it is so worth the listen.
I would recommend this to anyone who is ready for an adventure and doesn’t mind becoming part of a suspenseful, roller coaster ride.
