About this listen

They say love is like an explosion. But explosions haven't been so kind to Michael Wagner.

Michael's given his life in service to the military. He had a plan - structure, discipline, focus. Thirty years in the Army before retirement. It only took one IED blast to change all of that, stealing his hearing and altering the course of his life forever.

Joining some small-town support group? It's not going to change that. It's not going to give him back anything that he's lost...but maybe it's worth a shot, anyway.

They say love is like a car crash. But the funny thing about car crashes is - someone always gets hurt.

Andrew hates PTSD - the root cause of his father's decision to drink and drive the night he died. But getting angry is only useful if you turn it into action, so Andrew is resolved to reform the G-MIL support group his father used to run for military members and the people who love them.

Meeting a handsome, older soldier through the group was never Andrew's intention. Falling in love with Michael was never on the agenda. But when their hearts get involved, Andrew has to make a decision - can he withstand the pressure of loving a man who thinks himself broken?

Falling for His Comrade is the first audiobook in the Soldier's Support Group series, although it can be listened to as a stand-alone book. These military men might face some tough choices, but each audiobook in the series delivers a guaranteed happily ever after!

Book 1:
The chemistry between the two main characters was explosive, they were amazing together. Really well written book. It broke my heart but I really loved reading about Micheal and Andrew and their journey.
Book 2:
This was really sweet! I loved how Yves and Liam cared for each other and talked about the things that were worrying them. It was so wonderful to read their love story. And they had great chemistry too!
Book 3:

This book wasn’t my favorite in the series but I still enjoyed it very much and I thought that it was a great addition. I liked it that James and Kevin were close friends before developing a romantic relationship and I like how James stood up for himself. I thought that Kevin’s reaction to James’s parents was very immature. I understand were he was coming from but I still think he should have handled things differently because in the end it was James that got hurt. The ending made up for everything, and I loved catching up with the guys from the previous books.

Book 4:

I liked it. It was a sweet romance and the main characters had great chemistry together. Great addition to the series.

This is about a support group for serving/retired service men, G-Mil was ran by Andrews father who had PTSD, after his death Andrew decided to run the group himself.

These books follow the lives/relationships of 4 couples who have various issues including PTSD, Family issues including parents who disown their sons due to being Gay. The support group is for anyone and everyone regardless and they become a band of brothers/families who are there for each other regardless.

Well worth the 23hours that I listened. Very easy to listen to, the narrator Lance has a lovely tone and made it very easy to lose myself.

Story: A great collection of stories surrounding military related characters! I loved the concept of the support group as a center spot for finding help, hope and love! The characters created by the author were very different from each other, but all were very likable and fascinating! In one bundle we get an awesome variety of tropes, stories and personalities!

Narration: While I eventually got used to the voice, I think perfromance and voices differentiation could use some more work in this instance. It was clear, understandable and pleasant though, so overall a strong 4 stars from me.

Such a great set!

I love military stories and a series with men with lots of issues are some of my favourite tropes. I also love older MCs who have a lot of life on them. I enjoyed the stories and found that it was definitely worth my time listening to the 4 books. I also can’t believe it’s another audio I listened before I read the books. I think audio is addictive for sure. I liked Lance Adams’s voice and pace, which is great since it was 23 hours of listening. I now need to read the books, I definitely miss the fine details from reading that I don’t get from listening. I would recommend this series.

I love military men!

Falling for his Comrade is a series of 4 books following members of a military (and loved ones) support group. Each story follows the characters, from their beginning stories, through to meeting and dealing with their issues (there’s varying ones from PTSD to homophobia).

I usually like to read a book before I listen (quite often I get confused going straight to listening to a book) but this is a series that I hadn’t read first. If you’re easily confused like me you might want to read first, just because we get introduced to lots of characters in the first couple of books. It was a good listen - so it was definitely worth it. I enjoy books that follow one group of characters, so I was happy that we got to continue to see the other characters throughout the stories.

I don’t think I’ve listened to any narration by Lance Adams before, but I found that he had a pleasant voice and that he flowed through the narration well.

Great deal for a credit.
