Summary

Ex-special forces Jacob King is a man who keeps to himself, having learned the hard way that letting people close to you, trusting them, might just get you killed. A lesson he learned when members of his Special Ops team turned dirty while others, men he considered friends, died. He made them pay. He made them hurt. He put them in jail. And so he doesn't trust anyone anymore. He keeps his women hot and fast, his friends few to none, and his clients through the elite Walker Security at a professional distance, but safe. It works for him. Until it doesn't.

His newest job should be simple and cut and dry. Jewel Carpenter, the daughter of the CEO of Carpenter Enterprises, is receiving death threats. He's to protect her and find out who is issuing the threats.

Simple. Cut and dry. Until it's not.

Until the chemistry between him and Jewel is all about love, hate, and sex. But even as he fights the attraction to Jewel and discovers there is more to her than meets the eye, the real threat comes not from the threats she's receiving but from the connection she has to him. Because his past has come full circle, and those men he's made pay for their sins now want him to pay. And what better way than the woman in his bed?

Not so much

What happened?! The other two Falling books were great and the voices were excellent. This one not so much. Story was confusing. The narration was horrible. I almost gave up a few times but kept listening only because it was part of the Walker Brother stories. Please don’t use these two voices again.

Horrible Narration - Couldn’t Finish

The title says it all. I’m sure the story would be fine but there is nothing hot, steamy or sexy about the narration. Total mood killer.

Couldn't finish

The story may be good but too hard to listen to with computer sounding voices narrating it. just couldn't get into this. Really too bad as I loved all of the other books in this series.

Falling under fell short

First two in series were good, this one wreaked of lazy writing unworthy of LRJ. Jewel the worst female heroine ever--

Predictable ok narrators

The narrators didn’t sell it for me and the story is very predictable. It’s okay.

Narration through the phone?

Love the series, but this narration was just sad. The male sounded like he was speaking through the phone. The female was just boring. Is there no quality assurance for audiobooks?

Narrators Ruined the Story

Lisa should never have changed the narrators. They were horrible and completely ruined the story.

Good cop, bad green beret

Ex-green beret Jacob King is the strong very tall, silent type that keeps to himself working for Walker Security. He's lost everyone dear in his life and has seen some horrible things you can't unsee. Then he's assigned to be a body guard for Jewel Carpenter a cop with a sarcastic attitude. It helps her stay alive, keeps the guys treating her as a team member and not a lady on the job. Jewel is has lost a number of loved ones in her life and thus she comes off strong willed and won't let anyone push her around, nor get emotionally close. She definitely doesn't want Jacob and his 6 foot plus body guard following her around while she's trying to do her job especially while she's getting death threats and she works better alone...or so she tells herself. Jacob is just as strong willed and won't take no for an answer. The chemistry heats up between the two and it become hate to love, love to hate you etc....and personal walls come down. When each others past come full circle neither expected what would happen.
