The character development, new character introduction and plot thickening is exactly what makes this a perfect example of a great filler book. I didn't cry like I did with Heavenly Bodies, but I was definitely left gaping in shock and itching for the third book once I was finished.
My main complaint is an Audible issue, and it's that their narrator went from giving Enzo, and everyone from his territory, northern accents in Heavenly Bodies to suddenly having southern accents in Fallen Stars.
This meant that by the time I actually got to hear Enzo again, it didn't feel like him. I lost that connection with that character because his voice was totally different. I ended up just reading the rest of the book because it was ruining the experience. I almost had to grieve the character I was supposed to have gotten back. Incredibly disappointing...

Great book, ruined by the narrator

Just like with Heavenly Bodies I really liked the narration, and I did an immersive read with audio & ebook. With regard to the story, it took a while for me to get really in to it. In the beginning I was easily distracted, a sign that the story wasn’t totally gripping me. However, after 35-40% I really enjoyed it and liked the twists and turns the story took. I rate the story between 4-4.5⭐️. Really looking forward to part three of this series: Holy Monsters.

Good narration considering the number of characters in any given scene. Reminiscent of a Marvel movie franchise. Many characters had dubious motives/plans/relationships and no real depth.

Easy listen, entertaining enough but kept hoping it would get better. Ending was decent.
