About this listen

Bryan Hale is a damaged man. The stresses of combat flying in England's summer skies during the Battle of Britain, and night-fighting in the icy darkness of the Blitz, together with the loss of friends and a shattered heart, have left him broken and grounded.

Fortress Malta, and the unrelenting Nazi siege that aims to grind it away, will be the furnace that forges him anew....

The third book in the series, this one got me hooked. Bryans character development over the series is very good. Mixed in with some of the early large air campaigns in the war, it gives a great insight to the desperation of the time. I look forward to the next book being available on the platform.

Great stuff. Not your usual setting- do and jingoistic nonsense. Believable and thoughtful. Very enjoyable.

A good read.

The whole series is well written and narrated. The early characters may have had a fuller continuing story. Gerry disappeared having had a full pre war life story

No real story just seems to lack loads - there’s always something missing. Almost like the story is forced together, I stuck with it through all 3 books alas I won’t be doing anymore of this authors work.

This writer likes to kill off main characters so it was pretty obvious how the ending would go.
