Story
My name is Miss Lucinda Meredith. Please, come sit with me a while, let me tell you my story. It was the Summer of 1890. Theatre manager and writer, Mr Bram Stoker, arrived here in Whitby after an arduous theatre tour of Scotland. It was to be a welcome respite before his return to London. What he discovered was far more intriguing. We met at dawn on the East Cliff, in the shadow of Whitby Abbey, on a bench overlooking the sea. So at ease in his company, I felt compelled to share the events that had haunted my existence.

Our story begins the same as any ill-fated romance. Two households, two families, two species that should never be together. These are the recipe for tragic, beautiful love, fated to end in flames. She is my doom. She is my destiny. Unavoidable, impossible to deny, and painful to ignore. They call me Bastard Prince, a half-breed unworthy of a true title. But I still have to follow the rules. The ancient curse of their ancestry has fated them to live by night with an unquenchable thirst that neither can tame. The only thing that can save their souls is marriage to Outsiders - mortals whose untainted blood will weaken the curse in their children and break the chains of fear that have made their clan a breed apart.

A life of love and loss.
Eyes Like Blue Fire is a book that is almost poetic in a sense. The narrator has a hauntingly beautiful voice that is perfect for this book. I loved how the character of Katja was developed you really got to understand her life from the beginning. The book flowed at a perfect pace you are really able to get into the story.
The determination of the main character is felt throughout the book. I was able to feel her pain, betrayal, love and loss. The book is absolutely phenomenal and descriptive. The plot is creative and powerful. I highly recommend this book if you love books that deal with the supernatural. I received this audio book upon my request and I am glad I did. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review because I really enjoyed this book.

Sad
The reader is wonderful to listen to. The story however is sad and depressing. I could only listen to about 35/40 minutes before I just couldn't stand the depression. It may get better. I'll give it another try at some other time.

Eyes are windows to the soul, what if you’re soulless??
I read some sort of vampiric myth or series every year. I really love when some new concept is thrown into the storyline. Either adding to canonical texts, deepening the struggles of holding onto humanity and/or the theologically deep rooted beliefs. In the historical context masters are creators and should be mentors. If they become lovers it never seems to end well. With the Master’s his eyes being a blue like fire there are so many places that could take us. I loved every single one off of them. The Narrator added to the story.
* I highly recommend this book. In lieu of an honest review of the book I received a free copy of this book.
