Explorer is the story of what first led Benedict Allen to head for the farthest reaches of our planet – at a time when there were still valleys and ranges known only to the remote communities who inhabited them. It is also the story of why, thirty years later, he is still exploring. I came across Benedict Allen in the 90ies whilst at university. BBC2 showed some of his self recorded explorations. This book gives a further insight into his approach to and respect for life and the planet.
It would have been interesting to hear him read out his own book though. Saying that. The narration was professional and engaging. Highly recommended
