Unfortunate that this is just the audio from the film so a lot of the story is lost to tense music and action scenes that obviously make absolutely no sense in the context of an audiobook, don’t bother, waste of time.

Not an audiobook it’s the audio from the film!

Having adored Blatty's masterpiece The Exorcist I was very excited to see this pop up in my recommended list. Sadly it's actually the soundtrack to the poorly made movie of the same name (Blatty described the movie as his biggest professional embarrassment). It's basically like if you were watching the film but couldn't see the pictures. Much of the drama is lost as although the score/background music gets interesting you don't always find out why which kills any semblance of fear you might have had. It's hard to follow because most of the story in the film is clearly conveyed visually. Stellan Skarsgard is predictably competent as Lankester Merrin but it wasn't enough to make this recording truly enjoyable. Disappointing. I wouldn't bother downloading it.

It's the soundtrack of the movie...
